The ironic thing about Deathwish's post is that his method of proselytizing will turn more people away from the religion he is trying to lead them to, than towards it.
In my opinion, if fear is the basis for your faith or religious beliefs, then you are practicing nothing more than a superstition. It's just plain silly for a person to try to instill their fears into another in an attempt to make them believe as they do.

9th,
I concur. I do not criticize because this member provokes me to think. His religious convictions are so strong they branch out in fanatical judgement. In addition, to threaten and instill fear in others. His actions is just one of the many examples why I question the Bible.

If the cops knew they weren't doing wrong...why do you think they have to come to your door with guns?

It's good to question things. I think that plays into the 'free will' idea, that people of various faiths like to bring up. I have to question the validity of the source (religious texts) of anyone who acts in a peculiar or threatening manner as well.
I mentioned on these thread before, about people pretending to be christian, then posting very unchristian like threads in an attempt to make christians look bad. I think that is the case here.

My opinion,
Although I don't agree with his post I will not deny that his motives were geared by his faith. It intrigues me how sometimes we can overlook that. I admit that his post triggers me to question the Bible. However, it was my fault in not mentioning my complete thought. What I perceived as his aggressiveness to judge and preach I also understood him. He and I are very similar but walking different paths. He is preaching his faith and fulfillment but may not have all the information. I am preaching my information but lack the fulfillment of faith. That is why I think that humanity is at war with humanity about God. If we are incapable of embracing each other, then no one religion or belief will ever attain God...........

Nice post Cat.
I sound like I am making fun of the poster but if you knew me you would know it is me I am laughing at. For about 20 of my 61 years I would have sounded just like Deathwish. That is what is so ironic to me. Because now I do not even believe what I was so sure of then. I thought I KNEW.
I do not, myself, question the bible because of anything anyone else has said or done, it is because I outgrew it. No offence to anyone but I do believe that is the only way I know to express it.
