Depends on how commuted you will be. To diet and to exercise.
Also depends on how overweight you are to start. If you're 600 pounds 60 pounds will be easier than 200 pounds aiming to lose 60

I was mainly asking a good time like a certain amount of months or days that would be a good estimate to shoot for, to me the hardest thing about losing weight isn't the exercise its the diet

who are we talking about? what is their current weight and level of activity, what are they able to commit time wise and dietwise, and what is their overall goal weight?
there are too many variables without further information.
if you want to figure the "mathematical" side of things,
one pound of fat could contain anywhere between 2,843 and 3,752 calories.
in order to lose 60 pounds you need to create a deficit of 170,580 to 225,120 calories.
depending on your current eating habits, if you have ballooned up in weight because you have been consuming 10,000 calories a day without the exercise to offset it, your weight loss will be more substantial at first. for someone who has always eaten right about the 2000-3000 calorie range, your deficit will be much lesser, therefore taking you more time to accomplish the feat.
there are also SOOO many variables in creating deficits and your body's natural response to it. cut too many calories consumed a day, and your body will process and store a higher % of those calories for fear of starvation. consume too many calories and you don't burn them, and they too get stored. it's a delicate balance that must be maintained. work out too much and fail to provide enough nutrition to your body, and that too will have a negative impact towards your weight loss.

While the concept of eat less/exercise more is simple, how it affects each individual body is not simple.
For thinking so YOU are the idiot.

there are certain jobs in this world that don't require a college degree. what's it to you? the only thing my father gave me was a 1985 chevy suburban with 200,000 miles on it. barely worth its weight in scrap metal. grandfather? he gives me an annual subscription to Field and Stream. yeah, i'ma trust fund baby alright.
i still want to know where you pulled this gem out of "you are a b*tch that's for sure you just came on my thread to talk shit in a passive aggressive manner and to be annoying"
and we weren't TALKING SHIT. we were ANSWERING YOUR QUESTION, which required ASKING MORE QUESTIONS in order to give an accurate answer. there is no GENERAL answer to the question you asked, there's too many variables.
you may as well ask, "how long will it take to get from san diego to boston?"
by airplane? by boat? by bike? by car? do you follow the speed limits? or do you drive over/under the speed limits? walking? running? how fast do you run? how long can you run that speed for? will there be weather delays?

How long do you think it would take to lose 60 lbs in a healthy way?
If you're trying to keep strength/muscle, on average, 2 lbs. per week has been said to be a good, healthy rate of weight loss for an overweight, non-obese man who does it by eating clean, weight training and cardio, a la somewhat natural physique competitor. That would work out to 30 weeks for 60 lbs., or 7 and a half months. However, you can lose more fat at the beginning for a while than at the rest of the weight loss cycle, so that would cut some weeks off. I'd guesstimate at about 24 weeks or 6 months for you. A lesser time frame is possible healthily, but it can come at the expense of some muscle loss.

OP there are several great apps out there for iPhones and droids that you can use to calculate how long it would take to lose 60 pounds. Several really good diet apps. Good luck!

you can safely lose 3 lbs a week by creating a calorie deficit and working out. At that rate, if everything goes as planned, you could lose 60 lbs in 5 months.

OP just wants an excuse to not start. He will argue with anything instead of tryin to help figure it out and get started. What difference dos it make if he is told a month or a year? He still has to cut his intake and ncrease his exercise level. The two things he does not want to do.

OP, you need to give Chevy some credit, the girl is super fit, I could see that being the case otherwise.
And some people lose weight at different speeds. I always wondered why I wasn't losing weight as much as I was exercising and dieting. But I found out my thyroid isn't functioning well.
But that won't stop me, I start off with small goals and create a goal habit. Start off small, and then go from there

I decided since this is a problem I have to take it ten lbs at a time and set a goal. Mine will be six months since I also have 50+ lbs to take off. I want to weigh myself every two weeks to adjust my need to increase exercise or fast.My brother took off 100 lbs in about 11 months by useing weight watchers and not eating after 4pn. His activity level was low due to other health issue4s so 60 lbs about 6 months. My nephew is a chemist and said to drink lots of water while dieting to flush out fat cells. Good luck.

My background is in Physical therapy and nutritional counseling, and personal training.
Why put a time frame on this? How long did it take before you realized you were gaining weight, and still did nothing? My point is that if you get on a program and stay with it, you will lose the weight at the rate that works for your body. If you go to my website http://naturalweightlossthroughscience.weebly.com/ and my follow up site http://loseweightsafelyandkeepitoff.weebly.com/ for information about the science behind genomics, it will recommend a diet and exercise plan, specifically for you. That will help you reach your goals faster than without it and also help keep it off forever. There are no quick fixes. Just work this is the way science is going, TRUE PERSONALIZED HEALTH , not the 1 size fits all diet. I originally sent you an email to your profile. Please do your homework and if nothing else google DNA weight loss tests, to see I'm giving you the best way to get the weight off
