Are policies and laws that see businesses, malls and other stores closing early on Sunday or completely closed on Sunday archaic?
I was just at McCain Mall. They close at 6 pm on Sundays and turned people away coming to shop and forced people to leave without any purchases.
So, do you think these policies are anti-consumer and hurt businesses?
I can see small mom-and-pop stores being closed because the owners want to, even Hobby Lobby and Chick-Filate.
But I see state laws and regulations that force car dealers, etc. to be closed on Sunday as anti-consumer and harming businesses. People these days are so busy that if they need to go car shopping, they have to decide between doing that or something else that might just be going on Saturday. And that limits shopping hours and cuts into money stores and sales men could be making.
Store owners and managers would just have to be on their toes with scheduling people 4 days a week and part-timers 3 days a week.

I think it should be up to the individual business, obviously following labor laws but I think any government action to prevent a business from certain operating hours is ridiculous.

I agree but also against other businesses pressuring people not to be open on Sundays.
