I go to Mid-City Gym in NYC. I love it and the rates are reasonable. Plenty of free weights, machines, cardio, etc. They now have a second one which I go to that is larger than the original. The original one was infamous since people like Arnold, Stallone, Hogan, etc worked out there.

Okay,

So here is my jedi mind meld on myself; i have no idea why it works, but it does for me.

When i first go back, i am top heavy as hell and it REALLY hurts to run and do upper body.

So, on the tred, i will stay on for about 20. Every five minutes i will run for one minute (yes in 3 sports bras and tight shirts under a hoodie) then walk/jog. I do this until i get to where i can run at a full time pace over several weeks. sometimes months depending on how long it has been.

I do this for pushups too. 4 sets of abs. I start off with ten of one exercise, then do 5 pushups. ten of the second exercise, 5 push ups. and so on

each week (sometimes every couple of days) i up it by about five for each exercise and add a push up in between.

Before it is over, im killing about 500 crunches/ab exercizes and 50 or more pushups on a daily basis. These are only freestyle though. Not including my other routine ones.

Any idea why this works for me??

I recently started the 30 minute biggest loser workout in my routine they added to my gym as a separate room.

I like to work out for a few hours when i go at least 4 times a week or more when i am up to full steam. I thought that room was stupid.

The first time i tried it? And did what i was supposed to? I puked in the parking lot!

Do you have good medical insurance? You might want to try to lose some more weight for right now. Get as much off as you can and then consult with a plastic surgeon about a breast lift in conjunction with reduction. If you can fully have this documented that it is hindering you in some way and preventing caloric expenditure by performing aerobic exercise for longer periods, sometimes insurance will cover it because it is no longer considered cosmetic, at least in part. Work with the plastic surgeon (make sure he/she is board certified) to help you with that. It's just a idea from what you describe.

Okay, so question about the hips on women.

I am lucky enough genetically (thanks mom) for being able to immediately lose weight in my waist first. Combine with the top half, this is an excellent thing for proportion.

Problem area is the hips. MASSIVELY wide hips. I have read tons of things on how to lose in them and also read that anything like squats or pushing weights from sitting position away from your chest spreads your hip area further.

I just CANNOT lose weight in this area and i have tried tried TRIED over the years.

What is the best way to lose it in this hard to target area and do squats really cause your hips to remain that way?

Unfortunately, you can't significantly reduce only 1 specific body area without losing a good amount of bodyweight. That's the reason you don't see any overweight people in the gym with 6-pack abs eventhough they might do 1000 ab reps everyday. You'll have to lose a significant amount of bodyweight to reduce your hips a significant amount.

As far as weighted squats widening your hips, not gonna happen unless you're wide-stance squatting a few hundred pounds as your workout weight and you're eating to gain weight. If you're still paranoid about it, squat with a shoulder-width stance and you won't have to worry. And again, most importantly, significant weight loss is required.

Felt good to get back to it after 6 or 8 weeks playing in the Georgia woods And now have a good supply of lean protein

I agree leaky ceiling old iron weights, basic equipment, gutter and gully, inspiration is found within for me its pain, intensity is the key to fitness I steped into a boxing ring for the first time when I was seven so ive been in the game for years. america is turning to fitness centers because people want the experience, more than the effort of result. I'm guilty too shout out to my old gym rma in bourne ma, but when I moved I had to join planet fatass because its the only.gym near me, hate the gym but if u want it bad enough u can get in shape in a cardboard box

We have a similar area in my gym and it is where I hang out most...almost all gals in the class area-Yoga, Zumba, Kick Box, etc I like staying limber with the stretching and movement, but must admit sometimes I do get stiff in there also
