When I joined DH, several years ago, it was a serious dating site. We posted serious questions to hopefully meet a match. I came back today to post about meeting someone. All I'm seeing are silly games. My only reply was to join in a game and go with it. I'm a disabled combat Veteran that is looking for a serious relationship. Why do I have to play silly games to meet someone?

A lot of vets don't get the recognition they deserve . which is very wrong in my book. i was never able to serve on account of a injury to my back when i was young. but i have the utmost respect for all veterans past and present.

Unfortunately, even when somebody does post a thread with a serious topic, it gets posted in for a bit and then gets buried beneath the games. When I first started posting a few years ago, all I did was play word games. They served their purpose for me and now I'm not interested in them any more. The same goes for the leg humping and "Tell Me I'm Pretty" threads.
They can be fun and a distraction when you need one, but the only thing I can tell you is to just ignore them and post where you want to.

There aren't many posters who are local to each other in this forum, I think that's why there are games and such. Or discussion threads ..because the forums aren't exactly the place to really meet people for dating. I suggest checking your state chat, or just using local searches for that.

Thanks for your service. I also served but not in a war zone.
One thing I will forewarn you about in the forums is do not take anything too personally here. Most everyone at some point will be harrassed so it will have nothing to do with the fact you are a disabled vet.
As others have said chances are you are not going to find the woman you are looking for in the 40s. Try your local chat. Good luck and I hope you find the woman of your hopes and dreams.

LITTLEBEAR...you don't have to. We can start a just hanging out on a free hookup website club. You can be president. I will be the treasurer. We will collect dues from everyone who does not get a date that week. If they get a date they dont have to pay. Since we are on the committee we dont pay.

I'm giving up on conversation and knowledge threads. You're right, they're dead before they hit the page. I think part of the reason is that most are reluctant to post an opinion, for fear of being chastised by the DH Gestapo.

No I am not trying to chastise or be the DH police or Gestapo but it is a forum where people can discuss their feelings and thoughts. Nobody will ever agree on everything and maybe sometimes people voice their opinions in a uncalled for way but imagine how boring it would be if everybody in the 40s chat agreed on everything.
