If I send a message to a person who doesn't post in the forums, they don't reply. If I send a message to a forum
poster, they ALWAYS reply.

This crap is crazy why don't anybody ever want to talk. I mean isn't that the main reason we join sites like this
I mean instead of ignoring someone why not be kind enough to tell them your not interested it makes it so much easier especially if you don't want your inbox flooded with annoying messages

People can flip out on you for telling them you're not interested. I post it in my profile and still get them trying.  rejection isn't for everyone.

I think it all depends on the approach.
words, like honey, baby, beautiful, lovely, and email address don't usually work in a first introduction.

if the message is too long then it seems too fake to me, or if it's broken English or asking for yahoo mail so to chat, those don't get return messages, i just delete and go on my way
