What ever the newest one is I guess.and if your friend is playing one, get the opposite version so you can trade and whatnot.
I haven't played in a long time but they are fun games.

I still have cards from the 1st generation and a gameboy with pokemon, red, blue, and yellow. Will probably sell the cards when I'm older or hand them down to my kids.
Have no idea about the new ones... gl

Uhm gamefreak just remade ruby and sapphire and I always get both of every gen... X and Y were a revolution in 3d Pokemon!!!

Pokemon Blue and Silver version all always be my favorite games in the series and games I still play from time to time. Charmander will always be my favorite Pokemon along with their evolution......gamer

Ruby or sapphire . I got sapphire and the generation before this one I have Pokémon X.... if you're unsure if you want to get into it the X & You Games are cheaper since they're older

Its a RPG so if you like those give it a try. The Pokemon stories always remain the same beat the bad guys become champion. But if your a competitive person you should DEFINITELY play this game. Battling online is much more and difficult than the games battles. I mean just being a Pokemon fan in general will also help

I still battle people from time to time on Pokemon Blue Version and the Silver Version. Battles are much more fun and difficult when skilled trainers put restrictions in battles forcing the opponent as well as you to think more strategically and tactically. At least that's the battles I will only partake in.....gamer
