Your question sure is breif. You forgot to mention what type of work the tractor will be doing. I think perhaps you're wondering if there is one brand of tractor that is superior to all other brands. Assuming this, I will say that there not. A 40 HP Kubota is equal to a 40 HP John Deere in quality and price if equipped the same way. If this is the first tractor you are purchasing, you might not be aware that a tractor is a "package" of components assembled to perform the intended work. For example, consider the tires. To maintain turf grass, (campuses, city esplanades, golf courses) a low pressure tire would be in order. If the work is primarily tending to row crops, an aggressive agricultural tire works best. The type of transmission, the hydraulic attachments size and weight are all figured in to arrive at the best package. The cost of your new tractor is determined by the components required to meet your needs. The Compact Utility Tractors that you see displayed at the dealer are usually a general purpose package that allows you to do a variety of odd jobs economically but does not excell at any of these jobs. Nonetheless, they are a good investment if you have a sizable property to tend to.

I'm going to say this farm tractor as in farm work picking up hay bales fields baling hay Kubota has a good tractor out I will say that but John Deere still has some of the best equipment on the market. Forrest tread on tires and stuff like that that all is totally different from a contractor tractor like a backhoe to a farm tractor is totally different I can take a farm tractor and go out. 3 feet down in the snow at four wheel differentials and everything else but I can take a backhoe with different ride tires and pull out of it but the shadow of doubt. There's no way I would invest money in a foreign tractor these days but that is just my opinion

My boss just bought a new 32hp john deere. The dealer told him it was a yanmar engine, boss asked what kind of transmission and axle, dealer said yanmar. Well theres not much else left. It seem to be a good tractor but its a shame that none are American made.

It's a damn shame that one of the most respected tractor company's has to resort to Jap running gear.

I'm not surprised! Due to government overtaxing and regulations, it's hard to blame the company's for sending their work and business out of the country. There are some who will step up and pay big bucks for goods made in the USA but it's all to easy to go for the bargain and walk away from homemade items.
We need to find a way to bring these jobs and manufacturing back to the USA. It's time to tell government to stay out of business and let then run their own company's
