I was not rised to exercise or going to a gym. My parents let me eat and watched TV as much as I wanted . I wish they didn't let me grain weight and being lazy. I didn't know what caused gain weight until I was in high school. Since at age of 17, i tried to slow down on my eating habit on and off, and I'm still over weight. I have been having hard time to get motivated to lose weight.
Now, I'm 29 and just signed up for a membership at the gym. My goal is lose 125 lbs.
I would like to ask for your advice. If you was in my shoes, what are some things that help you get motivated?

just do it.
throw out EVERY THING in your cabinets, pantries, freezer, fridge that is processed or packaged.
avoid canned good, frozen goods, and try to eat as much raw, fresh fruits/veggies/meats as possible. shop the perimeter of the grocery store as much as possible. try to eat as close to the source. with every step away from the source - canning, freezing, pre-cooking, etc. - you lose nutritional value and add in unnecessary preservatives and fats and sugars.

Set smaller, short term goals. Try for 20-25 lbs in 12 weeks maybe. Each little goal seems more attainable than the one big goal.
