Has anyone ever had these?
They can do them once a week for three weeks or three doses in one.
But it causes a lot of swelling doing them three doses in one and I already have swelling.
They're saying I need to have steroidshots ffirst and then six weeks later have gel shots. I have condronalaysia patella in both knees from my fall.
I can't take any pain medications unfortunately or antiinflammatories.

vanessamac, I hope it goes well for you.
I just had both knees x-rayed but I have pain in both legs, so I'm not sure they're going the right direction on this.
OP, I hope they can find something to help. I've had shots in my elbow, heel, back, thumb....they seemed to help. I don't know what they'll do with my knee though.

Hi,
I have had this done, I am someone who can take a lot of pain. I can tell you that the shots hurt like hell! I would get shots in both knees once a month. The shot hurts and your knees will swell with horrible pain for three to four days after. I have had my left knee replaced. I still need to have the right one done. My divorce got in the way of having the right knee done. I can also tell you that a knee replacement is not a cure all either. You have to work very hard at
your recovery. There is chances for infections. So, you have to take good care of yourself and have a good support from friends or family to have a good recovery from knee replacement. My replaced knee is not as flexible as I had hoped. I do stand more sturdy but, it can still buckle out from under me. If, ever do a knee replacement, I strongly recommend talk each step of the operation and recovery over with your doctor and with those who love you. Like I said, a knee replacement is not a walk in the park. You will need your friends and family. They need to know all stages of a replacement as well. This is not something all can handle because there is so much involved for replacement recovery.
Best of Luck!
