I know what you mean justaguy. But she did offer me a beer after I unclogged her toilet.
Know that was almost sexual....almost.

Not unless she says that is the reason for going to her house. There's plenty of other possible, not to mention more probable, reasons for the invitation. And those guys who tried to put the blame off on you,...what a pathetic attempt to justify their behavior.

NO, what is it with you guys. Not everything means SEX. Yeah, we like sex as much as you do, but hey, can you get to know someone first, there is no time stamp on that. It may take weeks, months even before you get to that point.

Old skool is just that,,old. I've been on dates where i've wined and dined the ladies. But when i get them back to their place it seems to lead to more than expected for a 1st date. And to tell you the truth , I was appalled. I mean , why should it lead to more than a date? It shouldn't. It should be a breaking point as to whether your interested in seeing that person again. Unless,,now here's another concept. I've been on a few dates w/this woman. Than we know each other and their is an attraction. Thus , the relationship has hit another plane.
Yeah, fair enuf, I'm old. Got what, 15 years on ya, "Sonny?"
But more importantly, my priorities are different than many people who are younger. I don't want to have sex with a relative stranger, even if she offers it up. I discount any initial physical attraction I might feel -- to me a stranger is more of a "thing" rather than a "person" when it comes to intimacy -- sex with someone like that would be little different than masturbating, except using someone else's body.
Now there is nothing wrong with two people "using" each other in that manner if they both consent to it, hence the term "consenting adults". But, that strikes me more as a business deal more than a romantic relationship.
Which, again, is still fine, for those that want it. I just don't.
My life is hell right now, with protracted litigation (that I'm winning, but the process is slow, and expensive, nevertheless), so I'm not "looking". But, that doesn't change the fact that I would like to meet someone kind, affectionate, and seeking a partner for a long term relationship that can, at some point, become intimate.
I do think that bullsnit has reached he age when he realizes that sex, freely offered, without a greater connection leaves one feeling that there's something "missing".
Sorry bout that dude, no pun was intended when i said old skool. It was a figure of speach, not a remark bout ur age. But, i've been divorced 5 yrs, after 10 yrs of marriage & i loved marriage. But couldn't console. So, if you think i'm just now reaching the age of maturity that i am realizing what love and life is all about,,ur dead wrong on this one Dr Phil. Chivalry is not dead,it's only dormant till someone with the same self-respect is found. And i have nothing but respect for ppl such as urself. But don't be so eager as to analyze someone and publicly announce ur theory.
Actually, I think you made my point: you have reached an age where you value more than raw sex. It may very well be that you reached that point at a much earlier age than most.
As for publicly analyzing one, how else can one know if one's analysis is correct if they do not have an opportunity to either rebut it or agree?
But, something doesn't add up. You note divorced 5 years, after 10 years of marriage and you're in your early 30s? You were married at 18? Yeah, I guess.

NEVER bring two guys to your house on a date. Especially if it's the first date with them.
Did you double-date? Or you lined up ten dates at the same time and took home the best two of ten?
I, as a guy, may get encouraged to touch the woman and make noises, but I know and respect signs of limits. I may make a foray, by gently putting my arm around her waist or asking her buttler to bring in the Boulanger '57. But if she gently peels her a** out of my hot hands or smashes the bottle on my hot head, I read her intentions. If she runs for the swords nailed to the wall in her ancestral castle where we have the tet-tet-tet, (I don't know how to spell French), then I might open fire.
It's that simple.

Maybe, maybe not. Invite me over. At some point after the door closes, we will both know. LOL
What does it mean if she wants to come to my house to meet for the very 1st time?

A real man would 've waited and scoped out the situation 1st to see. I do wonder that myself sometimes when invited home with a date but I NEVER assume that that's the case. Sometimes women feel more comfortable and in charge on their home turf.

What is wrong with everyone? Have we no mouths in our head? Surely it's something that can be established when dating or arranging a date so that there is no misunderstanding between two people who could be ideally suited. Imagine for example if the poor man has misread the signals and then tries it on and then gets accused of being pushy or on the other hand if he doesn't then she may feel rejected and unattractive. Best for them to talk openly about it. 'Shall we? Shan't we?' What could be more simple?

Tell the truth!!
You can only sit in a restaurant so long. If she suggests going back to her house, does that mean she wants sex?
I was told an invitation meant sex by two guys who I had to beat off later-but it was my fault, they said, because I had invited them into the house.
TELL THE TRUTH, NOW!

As our favorite boy George Castanza said, "No thanks. When I drink coffee after midnight, it keeps me up all night...."
Tell the truth??? OK.... Ummm.... Heck yeah it means that the woman or man is open to sex. What are we all playing stupid here??? Now, for the part about you having to beat them off of you goes... No woman is THAT attractive that a man should feel the urge to force himself on her. Period. Although you are not un-attractive by any means, you aren't so irresistible that this kind of thing would happen that often so I'm not totally buying your story about this happening more than once. But, not wanting to call you a liar, or shall we say talented and very entertaining story teller, I will give you the benefit of doubt that it did happen and it did happen twice but then I would have to ask why in the hell wouldn't you learn after the first time????? Don't you realize that you have the Kitsba???? Kramer had it and now you! So....Please for the sake of religion stay away from young men trying to enter Priest hood!!!!!

I dunno... for an ex-librarian, you sure use a lot of emoticons (you probably don't remember this word... it ages me. In the middle ages we said this to mean "smilies"). I would have frowned at any librarian ten years ago who used sign language instead of texting, but I go to the library often and I keep noticing that nobody takes any books out any more, it's just DVD, DVD, DVD. (I'm no exception.) The only people taking books out are the illiterate who either are trying to learn to read or else who're using them as decoy for the neighbours who suspect they're illiterate.
Losing language skills? You're a sign of the times.

I was on a first date with a very handsome guy that I was very attracted to. We both would have loved to extend our date by coming back to my place to hang out more, but it seemed more logical to end the date and plan for the next one. To invite a stranger into your home on a first date is just asking for trouble, and hard to explain if things turn bad...... and yes, I think guys think of that invite into your home as a request for sex...jmo
So... what happened to the guy and you? Did you eventually get around to it, or that was it, no more dates? I'm not being nosey, though it seems like it; I just hate cliffhangers. I am an enthusiastic closure-junkie.

Personally I think that if that guy is a gentleman and respects the lady there shouldnt be any confusion. I wouldnt expect or even want to have sex with a woman on the first date or invite back to the house. But i guess that depends on what kinda morals a person has. With all the diseases running around out there I might be quite leary about jumping in bed even if she did come out in a teddy. Call me old fashioned but i have to have feelings for someone and get to know them before i can take it to that level.
My answer.............Noooooo, thats not an invite to SEX

Part of me is calling BS on many of these answers.
On the other hand, it could be that the question isn't clear.
Men tend to spend a lot of time on a "feeling each other out" date looking for clues. For anyone who has ever turned on a TV, "Hey, let's get out of here and go back to my place"... Is a really strong clue. Any guy would feel encouraged to make a move - Hopefully with tact and class mind you.
But the OP wasn't clear if it was that kind of situation, or if it was like a sixth date where she invited him over for dinner. No clue there!
Regardless, no woman ever has to "beat me off". If she isn't into it, I'm not into it.

Hell no.... I did the same thing. I had a date and the drive to pick me up was
45 minuted drive, so after went went to dinner in my area, I invited him over for drinks
and conversation. He stayed about an hour. I walked him to his car and said thank you and good night. He gave me a kiss and hug and told me he had a good time.
So hell no....

It only makes sense, right? Same here by the way!
