I'd make beef enchiladas
with homemade salsa
spanish rice, a big salad and a pitcher of margaritas

Or

Beef and hotlink meatloaf with gravy
garlic mashed potatoes
french green beans with mushrooms, onion, celery seed, cracked peppercorns and Butter
a salad of
romaine lettuce, cucumbers chopped broccoli, tomato, onion sunflower seeds and raisins
With an olive oil vinaigrette
dressing

hey thanks
part of the growing older thing
but inside I'm still a wee Irish lass
and ..
on a side note
way back in the Dark Ages
I was born 60-miles south of Wichita
and raised on a wheat farm
started migrating west when I was '15'
back then everything was grown
no fast foods or pre-fab meals
and ..
people were alot healthier then
I had the best Mamma on earth

surgically removed 7/08/14 .. and a big bunch
of bones 10/23/14 .. sooos I don't gain a
ton of weight from all your cooking

I kinda thought this was a good thread ..
something different and fun .. and to get
as many as wants to to join in

something I haven't had in a lonnng time
is a buffalo burger on a large toasted bun
layered with fresh tomato and horseradish

the kitchen is open .. carry on

yeppers .. I just noticed

I've been transported up to Couer d'Alene
five time this year to line the oral surgeon's
pockets with gold .. I was conceived there
in WWII days when my Dad was stationed at
Farragut Navy boot camp .. but I was born
at their hometown in Kansas ..
I almost moved to CDA in 1999
but ended up here instead from Boise

my pillow is crying my name
I never made it in there last night
Insomnia is a demon from hell
WILL SOMEONE SING ME A LULL-A-BYE ...

I'm gone

thanks to everyone who has posted

here is the types of meals I used to prepare
good old down to earth farm cooking

Preparing The Feast

my hands busy ..
at the crack of dawn
a farm raised duck
filled the roasting pan
rubbed with salt and pepper
drizzled with ..
melted creamery butter
loosely tented with foil
before placing in the oven
to bake at 450 degrees
and basting often
meanwhile ..
I prepare a dressing casserole
dried bread cubes .. butter
spices .. apples and pecans
and another of candied yams
with peach slices and brown sugar
topped with mini-marshmallows
then another .. an old standby
of green-beans/mushroom soup
topped with french-fried onions
oh don't forget the relish plate
and a side of cranberry sauce
think I'll cheat a little and
have store-bought dinner rolls
and I'll let someone else
bake or buy the pumpkin pies
and furnish the Cool Whip
cuz .. this old woman
is plumb tuckered out
from all this other cooking

this is my "Happy Thanksgiving"
to all the good people here

but since 'alone' is my situation
in reality this year .. I will
probably have a T.V. dinner for one
and thank God for every bite
