I never looked at it as dating. I am not part of the dinning dead or a movie person. So when a woman joins me, I got to go to new and different places, I have not before. It's nice to have the company and someone else who remembers the memory.

I believe for a lot of people..dating is a addiction as well as a disease. .
People literally go spastic if they are not constantly with someone.
I know some people that are with a new person every couple weeks..and have been for the past 20 years..
Whatever they got..in which the odds are surely stacked against them after being with 150 people pluss..
They just spread to every new person..

For those of us who find ourselves single...yet again...there tends to be a period of adjustment and it feels hopeless...but that hopelessness is usually just our own insides leakin' out.
Buck up, be real and forge ahead.
It has been working this way for decades. We just have a few more tools available now.

Whats is funny in a way, the format for most dating site people is...if they really click, they start out emailing and talking on the phone, then meet...sex follows soon...and wham...many are in a relation.
New? nope...the same thing happened before there were computers, its just they met in real life first.
The further you go back in time...the time to get to that point was longer, because society expected the suiter to prove himself longer in the beginning...thats from a historical perspective...what likely happened is, the couple in question snuck in kisses and petting when they thought it was safe.
So these days...the time period between my first paragraph and what the Doc suggested...is only a potential two week or so difference....thats kinda funny in an irony sort of way.
I suppose off into the future when everything is automated and completely computerized, and peoples lives are that much more complex...we could see something like this, but all the gaps are filled by computer..
Much like the movie where Swartzenegger had sex thru a cyber connection that made it seem so real...except it will be a cyber connection of two minds....but even then, its a beginning before the actual meet.

No it's still the same as far as I'm concerned. We still get together to do something to see if we're a match. We still both seem to enjoy the time we're together but not so much that "we" have chemistry. The guy usually still wants in my pants without knowing much about me. I still don't let him. It's really no different from back when I was a teen!

I see little difference between that and your question.
Questions of "should" tend to equate to "Which is better? To let others standardize and centrally plan our lives, or stick with messy self determination and the consequences of such?"
Portfolios, profile pics, and interests are all information you don't get to choose to know, it's standardized information given to you from someone else.

I don't want to even spend one second on a date with someone I'm not going to be compatible with.
If I see an attractive woman, and ask her on a date, I'm doing that SOLELY because of her looks.
Then we get on a date, and find out she's bisexual, a muslim, or only interested in open relationships.
^^^ That would be a waste of my time, in looking for a woman that may be compatible enough to be my wife.

Why is that Naturesbounty, Johnnyfee, and Evangeline flag me to deletion 8 times in 4 weeks, but nothing happens to them?
Why is that Johnnyfee bullies, stalks, harrases, threatens, and flags me all over the forums and I report him to CS, but CS never does anything towards Johnnyfee?
Instead, Johnnyfee is allowed to still exist in the DH forums and faces no consequences for his negative actions, and in the mean time I get flagged to deletion FOR NO VALID REASONS!

Life isn't fair. I'm black. None of this is a revelation to me. Continuing to complain about it may not be the most productive fashion to bring about change.

I left comments in two threads in the Site Suggestions Forum that pertain to my particular issue. Maybe CS will take notice.
But you're right. Things aren't fair on here. For instance, there are horrible racist threads and racists who are allowed to exist in the DH forums. They never get deleted and the same with their threads. CS does nothing about them!
For instance, why is Vafella, a recruiter and paid propaganda person for the Stormfront racist organization allowed to post and exist in the DH forums??????
