I was born and raised in Vermont. I left Vermont for about 10 years but recently returned to to my beloved Marble Valley (Rutland area). I returned to Vermont because I like being near family and my cultural heritage. What I like most about Vermont are the friendly people, the beautiful scenery, being in the great outdoors here, and also the relatively low crime rate when you compare it with crime rates in other nearby states like New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
And yes, Vermont is a very peaceful place to live!
What do you like most about Vermont?

I like the changes of the seasons.
Winter for the beautiful snowfall, the crispness of the air and it gives me a break from my garden work by covering them with a warm blanket of snow.
Autumn for the changing color of the leaves, watching the animals gather food, collecting seeds for next year and the cool breeze.
Spring, when new life arrives, the flowers come up from the ground and I start planting my mom's garden. Best of all maple syrup time!
Summer because, thank goodness, the heat waves don't last too long.
