Never believe a man that says he cheated because of something YOU did. That's not true. He would have cheated regardless of you. You can be the perfect wife and a man would still cheat. They are never satisfied, get bored, get that seven year itch, etc etc...lots of reasons why they do it. Never makes sense usually but what can ya do! Thats bull. Humans were designed for one male to father a child with a female and the two parents who conceived that offspring to have high emotional attachment to it so making a protective family unit. AT MATURITY.

Married men who cheat do it for several reasons. Some aren't getting the kind of sex they want from their wife, so they find a GF, or hooker, who provides it. Others are just competitive sorts who feel driven to have: more women than the next guy, prettier women than the next guy, shapelier women than the next guy, etc, and so have to keep competing by continuing to have more women.Some do it because they believe it is natural to do so. Dressing up as, and pretending to be: a nurse, a HS school student, a nun, etc. The more she varies the makeup, and costumes, the more he will like it.
Some self centered men marry to have a baby maker, cook, maid, etc, at home, who will provide them with sex when no one else will. Such men then get as much sex elsewhere as they can, because they think they a re entitled to do so. The wife is not their only-or even their main-sex interest. She is just a fall back / backup for when his other women are not available.
The more a man is into: sports, booze, drugs, betting, and general competition, the more likely he is to cheat. Those who are less into: sports, booze, drugs, betting, and general competition, are less apt to cheat.

The male would have no emotional attachment to any offspring he created. So your logic is wrong. One male one female... Male was designed to protect the female and they share emotional attachment to their offspring.

I find that the answer to this old question is very simple.
People do what they do, because that's what they want to do. They say whatever they think they are supposed to say, in order to get what they want. The only connection between what most people say, and what they do, is that the same person does both.
In short, the ones who cheat, didn't get married because they wanted to live out life as a married person, they just wanted to BE MARRIED.
It's exactly like the people who get a job for the paycheck, not because they want to do the work. How common is that?

I'm going to say that cheaters are going to cheat.
My ex was a cheater before he met me, he cheated on me multiple times during the marriage (I knew about one and we went to counseling). He is now with another chick and he will cheat on her.
One of the things he used to tell me was it will be up to me on whether or not he will cheat. And I believed that for a long time. One of the best things the counselor told me was that whether or not a person cheats is up to that person. It's not a reflection on me but on that person. It took me a long time to realize that.
Cheaters can be men or women. You can't just generalize that
