Nothing that you try will be "%100" due to it being an allergy but there are certainly some things you can do to minimize the symptoms

Sooooo I'm not sure what kind of suggestions you're looking for... You don't want to take medicine and you can't be around dander because of severe allergy. I'm not sure there is a solution then. Has he had the cats the entire time you've been together?

he had cats when we met, I told him I was allergic when I started feeling for him, he said he would take me over his cats, I didn't ask him, I offered to break up, he insisted he would take care of this (as tears rolled out of his eyes) it makes me sad too

my guy's allergic to cats too, but it's nice being in a LDR ... he's not over but once every few months (we take turns meeting up, or meet in the middle), and i move all the pieces of furniture, vacuum, and shampoo all the carpets, wash the curtains and rugs and all of my bedding, and that seems to help ...
depending on how serious ya'll are, or what his living situation is, removing carpet and putting in hard surface floors can help tremendously

houses CAN be deep cleaned, you'd be surprised how much ...
and replacing flooring is oftentimes just the closing costs of selling a house and buying another ...
now he will probably need all new furniture, don't know what you have, but if i could resurrect the home i've already bought and paid for and make it habitable for you, i probably would in your shoes

i will have to keep my one baby, if and when i ever move in with my guy ... my cat was a stray first, so he still loves going outside, but i put him out on a leash to wander the yard, he cant get into too much trouble this way. guy has volunteered to build him an outside cat house - convert his old lawn mower shed into a cat house with a cat door, and stretch netting/chicken wire over his fenced in back yard, so my cat can live outside. my guy and the cat would be tickled with that arrangement

I'm going to try to use this tactic the next time I have a girlfriend with a pet. Only difference will be the only clothes I'll have for her to wear will be lingerie.

Sounds like through all his excuses he isn't that into you. If he REALLY had feelings for you he would make changes.
maybe hard wood flooring, leather couches, keeping the cats in a separate room while you visit, cleaning up hair, making a f**king effort would be nice or here's a good one, get rid of the cats.

he has a 100 pound dog, I have no issues with dogs. I love this man so much but wonder when it comes right down to it . WILL HE get rid of the cats? WILL he sell his house and move like he says in 2 years?
I plan to give him that long since I agreed and if he has made no effort, I will move on (Sadly because I love him so much...sigh)
so maybe I should just enjoy his company while I can and just realize that it may be short lived

This seems really fishy to me. He knows you can't come to his house while he has the cats which he says he will have dealt with within 2 years and you two are engaged. So there's no living together before the ring. I don't trust this thread.

for some it's cool, they even sleep with them. i told my friend you got too many cats, her sofa was starting to smell, you better release them i said and last time i in her house like 25 cats and today all the smelly furniture gone house practically empty and you can recognize the her cats in the alley, they feral now

Make sure the pan, scratching post, bowls, and sleeping beds are in a room you wouldn't frequent. This will cut down the exposure. Make sure that room is vacuumed with a hepafilter. See if you can make a cat door.
