I already had it. The passage of time has brought me from before to after. It's like why you're not still on the boat after you arrived and disembarked. Women my age are the same way. Been there, done that. After the reproductive years the impetus to pair up would have to be romantic. Romance doesn't happen with older women. What happens is, get too close and she has a bad relationship flashback, lashes out, and runs off into the night howling like a banshee, or, she limps away grumbling about arthritis. Either way the frosting is off the cupcake. The French have a word for this, but I don't speak French.

Sorry you are only finding women like that. You can find decent women, we are out here . I took time to get over the ending of my 20 yr marriage. I had to soothe my soul, I cried, sought out things, reinvented myself, found out what i wanted in life and in a man and got my self esteem/respect back. Now I go into things with a clean slate. It can be done.
What's keeping me from true love? I haven't found him yet.

I have a pretty great relationship... but his family hates me because they want him to get back with an ex that they all loved (although their relationship ended about 4 years before I came along). His family does things to upset me... like invite that ex to family parties (like, Christmas Eve, for example). They ambush me with her and I'm growing tired of feeling this way with them. I know he was getting close to a proposal... then Christmas Eve happened. His family will be the thing that probably keeps me from having the true love that I want... and I feel powerless to change it.
