jer3552 Vale, OR 60, joined Oct. 2013	misc I agree and all of u have a point about school room Spanish is only the tip of the ice berg need to practice at every opportunity and keep a dictionary handy and watch Spanish tv and Goth was right most people appreciate the fact u making an effort to learn their language.......all libraries have books on Spanish and Spanish novels..lots of Spanish tv channels......it will be so crucial for the next generation....I personally believe it will be more important than a high school diploma...but both is better

You could have no education at all and a huge company would be willing to work with you if you spoke fluent Mandarin and okay English. If you want your kid to be manager of McDonald's then tell them to learn Spanish. If you want your kid to be on an international level get them started on Mandarin and the world will be theirs.

It did with the large Vietnamese population we had come here in the 90s but Spanish/TexMex is what's spoken here in some places and with a lot of folks here it's JUST that...no English.
