laptop had not been used for some time. i updated avg, and was using free wifi until it was installed at home.
i honestly cannot remember if i was updating windows (7) or doing a recover to date there was no problems.
it was taking forever and i fell asleep. next day only logo.
i took battery out, cleaned it up. reinstalled, no change.
i readily admit i am not computer savvy. i read on one site to "clean the rams" uhhh. where might those be located?
i have no back up disc, and do NOT want to do a factory reset.
have read about "hard boot" on several sites. there were many different ways to do it, but none specifically said it was for vaio.
i really need some help, please. four years of hitting free wifi, get my own, and two days later laptop has issues.
any help would be appreciated.
O-K Baby-Cakes no more need to fret..
NO need to loose anything, re-instal, or worry...
Forget all the crazy stuff and we'll fix it RIGHT..!!!
( YES this works for Sony Vario running Windows 7 )
Sounds like some basic system files are either
missing or corrupted..
Do the following three steps in this order....
Step 1:
You can reregister if the ‘IEFRAME.dll’ file is corrupted .
a. Click on ‘Start’ button.
type cmd
make sure to " run as administrator "..
In the open black box, type these commands
{ type ALL characters and symbols WITH any spaces )
Regsvr32 ieframe.dll and press Enter.
now type:
Regsvr32vbscript.dll and press Enter.
Now type:
Regsvr32jscript.dll and press Enter.
( disregard any nul or confirmations )
===========================================================
When that is done now
Step 2:
a. Click “Start”, click All “Programs”, click “Accessories”, right-click “Command Prompt”, and then click “Run as administrator”. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click “Allow”
b. Type the following command, { type ALL characters and symbols WITH any spaces )
and then press ENTER: “sfc /scannow” (without the quotes)
[The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.]
When completed and you receive confirmation ( may take a bit of time )
Do Step 3
Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:
( again be sure to be admn mode.. if you are not..
you'll recieve a message stating not proper elevation )
first we Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults.
type EXACTLY
{ type ALL characters and symbols WITH any spaces )
netsh int ip reset reset.log
press enter
Now we Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults:
{ type ALL characters and symbols WITH any spaces )
netsh winsock reset catalog
press enter
NOW HARD
Reboot your machine.
All should be O-K..
Now download updates ........
and for cripes sake stop your childish C R A P..
and UNBLOCK MEEEeeeeeee...!!!

And by the way my dear Ms. heathensmom ,
If you are unable to get Windows to load...
Then RUN IN " SAFE " mode...
You can access " safe mode "
by pressing either the F2 or F8 key
WHILE booting up
BEFORE welcome screen or Windows tries to load.!!
And PLEASE don't delete meeeeee...
Cause I is INNOCENT..!!!
