recently it seems like i am getting at least 10 spam messages a day from 'people' like sexy karen,and spicy heather who are trying to redirect me to other sites to view porn.
all it would take to get rid of these spammers would be a filter that would catch all of the messages that are being sent out with 'http//', 'www.',or '.com' in them to stop them from doing it they way they are now.
i know that a filter like that would be very easy to set up,so i think this site needs to do it,so that we quit getting over run with spam like we have been lately.
[i just got 2 more of them in my inbox in the time it took me to write this post!]

Now that you mention it Kraven...
Isn't there just such a filter which is available for the various devices which, when downloaded,will prevent all the unwanted spam?
DH is a free site ... I don't see them adding a lot of technical stuff unless they start charging the members for it.

this site already has filters that they use to filter out stuff like curse words,so people that arent logged in cant see stuff that might be controversial,or obscene...
ever see this before?....

all it would take would be for someone to push about 20 buttons to enter in the new words/phrases to be filtered out,and it would be a done deal.
no new expenses...
no new technology...
just a matter of them caring enough about their members to do it.

You're talking about some kind of internal editor? A system filter which modifies offensive language? That isn't exactly the same kind of thing the members are talking about with regards to the spam messages, is it?
I have never gotten any spam messages. Are those messages using obscene language?
I understand the premise but I don't see the correlation.

a filter allows you to enter anything you want into it to be filtered out,whether it is actual words,or just certain letters,in a certain order,such as www. ,or http//,and it will filter it out of the content on the site.
and,if it is filtered out,there is no reason for them to even send the messages,cuz the addresses will not come through,so it is just wasted effort on their part,and they will move on to easier pickings
thats all there is to it...
nothing to understand.

same here been getting hit every time i log onto DH. its becomming a real pain and have even thought about deleting DH. the ony send stuff when i am on or have been on within 5 min, i guess it still shows online for a while after you close app.
SOMETHING NEEDS TO GET DONE ASAP OR PEOPLE WILL GO ELSEWHERE AND LEAVE DH...

the reason YOU dont get any spam messages is because you are one of the people who are so insecure that you keep your profile set to invisible,and cant receive any messages from anybody.
it must suck to be that insecure!!

There's too much money in the fake profiles. Advertisers are paying per member. So if DH allows fake profiles that's just more money in their pockets. All these easy solutions will never happen because there's more money having fake profiles than without.

It's in its last throws. POF and OKCupid have the free game locked down. POF for the vapid, and OKCupid for the ones with personality.
Even with spam, datehookup is still better than MeetMe. wow what a cesshole.

MeetMe was the worst of the worst! I was there all of 15 minutes before deleting.

and for POF, I have been on there quite a few years, and have had very few scammers over there. They kept house quite well.

i found out a way to stop the spammerbots like sexy karen,and spicy heather from spamming my inbox to death...
i changed my age up to ancient,and that took me out of the age range they are searching for,and now i am not getting any messages from them.
i havent gotten a single message from them since i did it!
i was also told that you can change your location to somewhere outside the U.S.,and that will stop them,too!

I'm getting them daily iI started to report them as scammers don't know what good it does. The filter idea is a good idea but they will just try to do it by getting you to text them or messager like some of them have been doing.

I don't know if they have put a new filter in place. But I'veggotten a few emails saying I have new messages and profile views and when I go to check them there isn't any.
