I came in contact with a friend..lives about three hours from me.
We met online about five years ago.
Not here.
Had good conversations over the phone, but never met in person.
I told him about couple weeks ago that i might go visit my mother which is about an hour from him.
He suggested i come through on my way to see my mother..i told him....maybe.
Every since, he has texted me a few times every other day, ive responded and that was that.

He texted me last night...i didnt respond. Called me today...i didnt return the call.

I didn't go see my mom....but why didnt i tell him that?
Is this wrong?

I think you might need to make a phone call tonite.

he was excited at the prospect of meeting you and that didn't happen, that happens, or figure out why you're not telling him.

if you WANT to meet you will.

I know I'd not even consider a LDR for the last decade or so.

figure that out...do what you'd like someone to do to you.

Remember friends are little treasures that help us through bad days. Treat your friends bad and one day you'll be alone. No one to bounce ideas off. Or to commersierate with.

Why didn't you answer or call him when you realized you weren't going ?

And how would you feel if someone did this to your best friend ?

Or you ?

You don't need to make any excuses to this guy. Not replying to his messages makes me think you just want to end it with this guy. He's this electronic friend you've known for 5 years and have never met. If things were going to happen it would have already. If you met him in person you would know if you're still interested in the first 10 seconds.

If you still want him in your life simply text him that you didn't go to your mom's house and that maybe you can get together next time. You already haven't replied to his texts, maybe it's time just to cut him off and move on. Block his number, delete social media and focus on yourself. There are plenty of guys in your area to be talking to dudes 3 hours away. Talk about frustrating. I would need to have at least 1 local side ho if my girl was 3 hours away. This isn't a big deal but you made it one, stop worrying. You didn't do anything wrong! Long distance relationships can suck. I hope that you just move on!

So many people waiting years talking to people online. The day comes that they meet is the day they never talk to each other again. It's a waste, meet in person within the first few weeks, if he can't do that he's not compatible.

If you didn't set a specific date and time to meet... it was just a "maybe" date.

They don't really count.

However, it is good to return messages within a reasonable amount of time... especially when dealing with friends...unless the person sent you a message that does not deserve a response like... "Nice boobs".

So, you got someones hopes up, then changed your mind and could not tell him. Women do that to men all the time and think it is alright. Now let a man do that to a woman and see how fast he is labeled an uncaring cad.

Well....you started out talking to him....then left him hanging.

if you thought he was being too fast or you were not sure about meeting him.

its better to have told him.

but your the one who brought up you would be near him soon.

So that suggest you want to meet...all he was doing was playing up to what you seemed to have suggested.

Honestly, if a female were to behave that way with me, I wouldn't bother speaking to her again even if she called to apologize or explain. I would consider it to be a sign that she's not into me or has deeper issues and I'd move on. There are sooooo many single women out there. Why waste time on one who flakes out?

Let me explain more for the ones that think i did so wrong.
A couple weeks ago...i got a new phone.
My contacts was listed twice, so i started deleting.
Came across his name and i texted him.
He rememered me...we had not talked in years...maybe four.
I changed my number but he still had his.
We talked for a couple hours...he remembered a lot from the last time we talked...even asked about my kids.
He was telling me i should come visit...i told him i don't go looking for men...let alone drive three hours.
However..i told him i was thinking about going to see my mother...he then suggested i stop by.
Hes a good guy...we used to talk for hours all the time.
But we stopped talking long before i changed my phone number.

A REAL man doesn't get all hurt and bothered when a woman says maybe she'll
stop by for a meet 'n' greet and then doesn't call or text butt <<---->> it still is a
bit rude of her not toooooooo

Stop being such a Sally and start being a Saul

Damn you metro-sexual men who ruin it for us rough 'n' tumble types

Real men are passionate and can fall in love in an instant and at the same time know that its insane.....For the record I think both of you guys are pussies that I could kill in a knife fight.

How did she do that Pat? They never met (yet) and she said she might go and meet him...no promises were made...
We aren't speaking about a bussiness contract or deal where a man might lose all his money....NO THIS IS A GAMBLE WITH A MANS HEART.....I would much rather be broke than broken hearted.
