Mans purpose on Earth was to love a woman and carry on the species.
But, in order to win her love...he was suppose to fight and protect, and create things to the point of Total Annihilation of the planet and human species, so that there would be some closure to this madness.
However, there will just a few survivors and then the spaceship comes down and takes these survivors to another planet...and starts the whole thing all over again.

I saw that show and what you are saying sounds familier.
I found it interesting how they were talking about the discrepancy in carbon dating, it's like 30 years either way, I had no idea it was that close. Of course there are some people who do not believe it works at all. You know, those people who believe the entire universe is less than 7,000 years old.
In that same show they were talking about finding some silver scroll that had verse on them that predated the dead sea scrolls. Way way way BC.

Word definitions and grammar. "A man," indicates you refer to one man, and not a group of them. "Man" has different possible meanings, the most common for the singular form of the word, being "Male." All other attributes beyond that are subjective, so you have to ask a specific person for their own prejudices.
WHERE DID MAN COME FROM
A non-factual manner to state the question. It would be accurate so far, to say that "Man comes from Earth," because so far, we have no evidence to confirm that we came from anywhere else. It would also be accurate to say that man came from woman, or that man came from his own imagination, since "man" came up with the idea of calling themselves "man."

A purely religious question. There is no objective proof that there is a "mission."

It's not as easy as it sounds.

Everyone searches for an answer. Why people exist is a question philosophers have been asking for thousands of years. Yet, every time I contemplate it, I am drawn to an inevitable conclusion: there isn't one. There's no reason to any of it. There's no grand purpose, no life after death, no great beyond... there's no ghosts, there's no soul, there's no great immortal being watching down on us.
The only purpose that exists is the purpose we make for ourselves. And to be honest, as the years go by I am finding it more and more difficult to come up with a purpose for myself.
