I am ready to take a break from dating.
I'm going to take a mental break from dating. I have been working pretty hard by looking for dates in various places and paralyzing myself with worry, stress, and the fear of not finding the right person and being alone for the rest of my life. While dating is stressful for people with social anxiety disorder, it is also stressful for everyone else too. I'm going to take a break from it all! I'm going to take a couple weeks or so and go to work, and then come home and do only things that I enjoy - I'm going to make myself a nice supper, take a hot bath, play some computer games, go to resell shops, flea markets, sew, make jewelry, list a bunch of stuff on eBay, watch my favorite movies, exercise, walk the dogs, go shopping, hit the subdivision sales, do volunteer work, or read a book! I have been working pretty hard up to this point - it is time to be nice to myself and take a break from it all for a while. My dogs and I enjoy our volunteer work. It is so important to give back when ever you can. It feels so good to make other people more important and to not even think about my own life.

Didn't read all of that...but I will say that I didn't need to be in my 50's to realize its not worth dating.
I work hard on a job not for a relationship or finding one.

I've been on a dating "break" for years.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with being single. It's quite lovely!
If you have to "work" at dating, you're only going to be disappointed in the "pay check".

Nothing wrong with taking a break from dating, but I don't think shopping is the answer tho, I been single for a while myself and actually did find someone, but didn't really have to look he found me

Yeah, mine found me too....just sent me an email asking me out to dinner. I accepted. The rest is history.

I was single for almost 10 years. I have meet a few guys since joining in September 2013. I had been dating a guy for a few months before I met my current boyfriend. My current boyfriend and I started out as friends. I have known him for over a year now. He comes over as often as he can.

I personally put no effort in dating...I realized a while back that I like the way my life is right now. Nothing wrong in not dating..I think? When the time is right...it will happen again.

I am starting School in May so dating is not on my mind and my urge to date has dwindled over the last almost yr. I am happy being single .

I occasionally date a guy that treats me good and he has a great personality. But I still date other men and ladies just for the variety and fun if you know what I mean .. . NO, I'am not 'Loose' or a 'Slut'. I work hard and like to play hard too..

I pretty much gave up to. I am now considering just having a FWB. I think I want too much in a man and I am not willing to settle. Men seem to be giving less of themselves. They are a complete waste of time.
Please don't suggest a nice guy. They are the biggest jokes.
