Missouri-born model Tess Holliday made headlines earlier this year when she was the first truly plus-size model to sign with a major modeling agency. In January, Anna Shillinglaw, the owner and director of the U.K-based agency, told the Daily News, “I think we’re the only agency with a model of her size. She is by far the largest model I have in the [Curves] division.”
At 260 pounds and a size 22, many would argue that 29-year-old Holliday, whose real name is Tess Munster, isn’t just plus-size, but obese. Models like Myla Dalbesio, Ashley Graham, and Robyn Lawley—all of whom both media and the fashion industry have deemed plus-size—are really just normal sized women (with exceptional features) who clock in around size 12 or 14. Holliday is significantly larger, but she’s also just hit a very significant milestone in the career of a model: Holliday’s on the cover of People magazine.

You know what this means...the media, government and population as a whole in America unlike Europe have finally admitted they have lost the war against obesity and the multinationals making junk food are smiling...it's the #1 cause of aggression due to additives as observed in Fat Bear, Russell and Cash every day. Anyone this size is not healthy and to use models to promote this lifestyle is a joke. It's like going back 30 years and stating smoking will make you cool. Unbelievable...almost as bad as being a transgender and thinking you're sane...amazing where we are headed. Most school kids are fat without exercising and we're just getting worse every year. Pretty soon guys like Sweetie will be modelling men's underwear and be considered hunks. God are people stupid and blind.

Yup, once the novelty wears off (and of course the free publicity the model agency got from all this...call me a cynic) and the contracts are canceled it will be back to double fish and chips washed down with tears and ice cream.

Not everyone who wears a large size is unhealthy or unattractive. What is a "healthy weight" for some might not be healthy for others.
This might be the same model who battled bulimia in her youth. Bulimia is definitely not healthy.

I was just at the doctors for another followup physical because of my INTERMITTENT ED. I am at 175 lbs. Doctor said I lost 8 lbs and now that I am fooling around with a better class of woman, my ED has almost disappeared like he said. No more women who have a whole junkyard in the trunk and are ugly and mean.

260lb is clinically obese unless you are 8ft tall (or muscled up).

I say Capitalism at it's finest. There is a market out there for plus size and larger models. She fits the bill for modeling a size 22.
As an aside, there's nothing like opening a magazine ad for youthful skin products modeled by an obvious 20 year old.
When More Magazine (market 40, 50 and 60 yo women) first came out, the models in a lot of the ads weren't 20. I see that went by the wayside some time ago. But it did make a statement. Even the famous, and once vivacious, scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis, did an article showing what she looks like in her granny panties and no makeup.
