What Home Should Be
Home needn't be a mansion,
Luxurious and grand.
It doesn't have to occupy
A large expance of land.

It can be a modest dwelling
On a tiny little plot,
With furnishings and fixings
That haven't cost alot.

But home should be a
special place
Where we can truly share
Joys and sorrows egually
With others living there.

A place where all our
dreams are born
And future plans are laid,
And where,among familiar things,
Our memories are made.

A nest where little ones grow tall
And stronger every day...
A place they'll think about and miss
When they are far away.

Home is more then just a place
To shield us from the cold,
Or a refuge we depend on
To house us when we're old.

Home is where we live each day,
And modest though it be,
It can shine as an example
Of love and harmony!

Shine
Jesus bids us shine with a clear, pure light,
Like a little candle burning in the night,
In this world of darkness we must shine,
You in your small corner, and I in mine.

Jesus bids us shine,first of all for Him;
Well He sees and knows if our light is dim;
He looks down from Heaven, sees us shine,
You in your small corner, and I in mine!

Safely Home

My heavenly Home is bright and fair;
No pain,nor death can enter there;
When life is past my soul shall rise
To dwell with Christ beyond the skies.

THE DIFFERENT SOUNDS OF SILENCE

Silence can be deafening,
When there is no one with whom to talk.
When there are no birds singing,
In your garden walk.

Yet silence can also be golden,
When you meditate upon the Lord.
Our Father tells us to be silent,
And know that he is God.

As I sit here in my silence oh Lord,
I give it all to you.
Take it and use it to teach me,
In everything I do.

Help me to learn and listen,
And always seek your face.
Remove the sorrow with in my heart,
And in it your peace replace.

So in the sounds of silence,
Help me to make a choice.
To put myself into your presence,
And listen quietly for your voice.

THE FANATIC

You call me a fanatic,
And you turn your back on me.
When I open up my bible,
And ask for you to see.
The story of your salvation,
And how Jesus has made you free.
You see I have a gift,
a gift I want to share.
Because each of you is my brother,
and I do care.
If in my clumsy attempt I turn you away,
I ask your forgiveness, and beg you to stay.
You see one day I invited Jesus in,
He came into my heart, and cleansed it from all sin.
The joy, the peace, was something to behold,
It’s a story that just has to be told.
Believe me friend,
I only want this same thing for you,
Invite Jesus in,
And you can be born again too.

Why Jesus Wept

Did you ever stop and wonder why
On the night before He died
The tears ran down our Savior’s Face
As openly he cried.

Every person who would ever live
Passed before the Lord that night,
He saw the ones that wouldn’t be saved
It was a painful sight.

He knew that He’d be lifted up.
To draw all men to him.
He saw how men would turn their backs
And continued with their sins.

He saw how for a little pleasure.
Some men their souls would sell.
And how that they rejected God
And sent them selves to Hell.

I’d like for everyone to stop and think
Of all the things you do
Could you stand before the throne of God
Or was one tear for you.

A poem for all the hunters out there.

A Deer Hunter’s Dilemma

The snow was gently falling
As it tumbled to the ground
A flock of geese were calling
As southward they were bound

The old deer hunter sits at the window
And thinks of years long past
How the family had always gotten together
And would this one be the last?

He had raised his children in his way
Hunting wasn’t just a sport
It provided food for the table
And was a camaraderie of sort

You showed respect for what you hunted
The woods was a gift to man
You left it like you found it
It was part of our Creator’s plan

But something new had now appeared
It challenged how he thought
CWD was killing the deer
And now it must be fought

He reluctantly picks up his rifle
And heads out to the woods.
To become part of a solution
For a problem not understood.

But to pass on a heritage
For a generation yet not here
He walks out to his favorite stand
To hunt the whitetail deer.
