We have many tourist attractions in our state. Been a few years, but I use to enjoy many places.. Canoeing in Loudenville, Cedar Point, Caverns spelunking in southern Oh., so many places. I live near Cleveland and there is so much right here to do. Museums, Science Center, tour the S.S. Cod, Casino in downtown and Hard Rock Casino to the south Cleveland about 40 min. away, Zoo, New Aquarium, and much more in the area, oh can't forget PlayHouse Square.
We have so much to see and do all over this state.

I loved the Great Serpent Mound visit I made,many years ago. I also have been to dern near all the caves and "cracks in the Earth" here in Ohio. I love the state parks and the metro park system,Malabar farm is close by and I have canoed with my son some long,lonely,stretches of rivers here,too.

Serpent Mound was vandalized over July 4th weekend. Someone went joyriding over one of the 9 ft Adena burial mounds. They got the guy who did it (thanks to surveillance cameras). It's so sad the lack of respect that people have anymore.

Hey Reese! No kidding? Wow,I read a coupla years ago or more some group went around burying I THINK it was foil balls and other stuff to try and interfere with the forces surrounding the Mound. Did you know that the "head" of the snake points to a HUGE meteor crater made in prehistoric times? Yep and compasses and electronic things go crazy there also!

Nobs, the damage is reparable, but it's pathetic that people have so little respect.
Thanks for reminding me about the neat things about Serpent Mound. I had forgotten a lot of the lore about it.
FTR- I haven't totally given up on the idea of an event, I've just sidelined it for now. I have things in my life that I'm trying to get situated right now.

Oh,yes! I spent 3 wonderful years in a relationship with a lady from this site and she took my son and I and some of his friends there! I loved the rock house and have been there when one couldnt even walk around without bumping into another and also when just the three of us were all alone in the rock house for upwards of 20 minutes. I love it ! So beautiful! I have heard they do winter hikes there also,I would like to try that,too!
The lady also took us to Black Hand Gorge a very cool place also and I THINK a mammoth tooth or some such was found there recently.
Another lady I had 9 wonderful months with took us to an old quarry in Castillia,the home of the now defunct tourist attraction The Blue Hole ,an underground river entrance which I think is now a fish hatchery?

Part of it is I believe nobs, Ohio sort of has a shortage of cold water streams suitable for rearing trout species, most, if not all of the water flow from the Blue Hole dumps into Cold Creek, which eventually dumps into Sandusky Bay, where the water enters the bay it is still a good deal cooler in the summer months that the bay is.

I guess it would depend on your definition of ambulatory?  Previous incidents have convinced me to limit any attempts at anything involving walking or standing to the confines of my own home!

Findley Lake also in western New York
Niagara Falls, I always preferred the Canadian side.
Never had much trouble finding something to do when I was able to do it, and I still don't have a problem now keeping myself entertained.
Clear Fork is a nice spot, in your area.

Oh,yes it sure is,PD...you have one of those Rascals? The boardwalk at Johnsons woods is excellent and well kept and whole LOT of cool things to see there.Some of the oldest trees in Ohio,I believe...
