I was told that the best diet to control Diabetes 2 is the same diet recommended for celiacs. Any truth on this?

Does your medical facility have a Diabetic Dietitian? If so find out so you can work with them on a good eating program to fit your personal needs and lifestyle. Don't follow a diet for Celiacs. They must eat a gluten free diet and people who don't have the disease actually need gluten in their diet.
Copy and paste this link to the American Diabetes Association onto your web browser. It will help you with food choices.

I'm Type 2 and insulin dependent due to cancer that removed part of my pancreas. I eat any foods that I want but in moderation. I know that if I eat pasta my glucose will spike. It helps to know which foods will spike your glucose and to make a notation next to your reading that you ate pasta for dinner or had 2 cookies at 10pm which might show in your morning reading. I never deprive myself. Over the years I've just figured out how my body chemistry works. Exercise will lower your glucose.
Okay, I hope that helps. Feel free to ask me questions. I've been a diabetic since 1998.
