CW ops has always been important in military operations. It was a severe Thunderstorm that saved Washington at Yorktown and forced Cornwallis to surrender. In 1812 a freak Tornado hit the British Army outside Washington D.C. and drove the British back to the sea. If the Weathermen had not made the forcast for D Day, 6JUNE44, then D Day would have happened later and history changed.Weather Forcasting iwas important for the Bombers, Fighters and Airborne ops. Weather forcasting is , has and always will be important to all ops. First!!!! BTW...I am a fountain of useless info! LOL! The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is not in Indianapolis proper. During Indianapolis first race the crushed stone and asphaltum crumbled, broke away cause many wrecked and numerous deaths.... They re-did the track with bricks... I think in. 1903 or 1913 they outlawed drinking any alcoholic beverage during the drivers pit stop.... and it's a track known around the world..and their are 3 car manufacturers still around that was in the original race, Mercedes, fiat and Buick(?).. How goldfish can freeze and thaw out alive and swim just fine..Fascinating .
