A lot of folk in the Religion Forum consider the idea of God's act of bringing a Genesis flood as only adding to their conviction that....

1) That is a myth

2) If there is a God, it is evidence of His cruelty

3) If God is omniscient/ all knowing, He would have known humans would fall, and therefore not created them

But what things are going on that we do not see/ perceive? Was there "war in Heaven" as is described in the book of Revelation?

If there was war in Heaven, should not that have put all plans of creation on hold, until God could clean it up?

Just some thoughts to ponder.

Aliens could possibly exist (although it's unlikely that they're visiting earth). Witches exist — they're people who cast spells and do herbal medicine. Bigfoot sightings may be attributable to misidentification of bears or hoaxes. Ghosts are unlikely to exist and, like gods, don't have any meaningful definition. Perhaps you could tell us more about this class of people who (you claim) believe in Bigfoot and Ghosts while rejecting the impossible hypothesis of a relatively recent Global Flood. I've never seen anyone on forum expressing this view.

In the Middle Ages the English word "ghost" simply meant spirit, or soul, as in the expression "he gave up the ghost" (he died). Only in the last century or so has the word "ghost" been restricted to meaning evil spirits only.

Words change meaning over time. Frank Sinatra didn't mean he was a homosexual when he sang of being gay. You're trying to pull a word game on us here, Elder.

I think of the Holy Spirit as God's spirit that moved upon the face of the deep in Genesis — an attribute of God rather than a separate entity. It seems a bit suspect for Christianity to make the spirit into a separate person. It's like personalizing Superman's heat vision.

Scoobs does what so many non-believers on here do---he can't refute Jester's arguments so he launches personal attacks on Jester.

Jester has no arguments to refute, if you think he is a debater you have dropped points from your GCT,ARI score from 121 to 38.

Jesters one liner topics and inability to spell and use of poor grammar along with a complete lack of logic indicate an infantile poster at best.

The two of you together brings to mind the movie "Dumb & Dumber"

Intelligent question.

Conjecturing, if we are speaking of this universe, including our Earth, I would say "Heaven" came first. Heaven being that place--we yet know not where--from which the Three spoke Earth, and the universe into existence...

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1
