I inherited one last year.its only a few years old.
Less than 500 hours.
I've been in the transmission to fix the shifter.
Now I have it torn down because the cam gear is stripped.
The hydraulic pump is on its way as well
My 79 year old farmall still going strong and never had a major repair.
Even has the original front tires(what's left em)
What's your go to tractor?

I now have a ford 3600 diesel with power steering but the old gasoline tractors are easier to start in the cold, easier to work on and more reliable. I like old fords, my dad was a farmall guy.
Its a shame that we can't have new American made tractors less than 100hp any more.

sureshot40 you liking fords maybe you can tell me what numbers? 3000 4000 ect. did ford use a 3 cyllider diesel. Back in 1969 I was using one for a company that had one and it started istantly every time down to zero at least with no heater. I was really impressed at that time having come from a farm of farmalls

MY 3600 is a 3 cylinder diesel and starts easy even at 0 degree, no heater, no starting fluid. The 3600 is about 1975 version of the 3000 and they were both gas or diesel same engine, where the fuel injection pumps sits on a diesel, the gas would have a distributor. My favorite ford was an 861, 4cylinder gasoline 55-60 hp and would only use about a gallon of gas an hour running a 6ft brush hog.
My dad really liked the farmall A, as a kid I would ride along with him when mowing hay.

Compact Kubota may be American made
Compact Deere is not
The only Deere's still made in the States are the big boys

My model a is my baby
Pushing 80 years old and never had a serious repair..
It even still has the original(whats left of them)front tires
Gas powered
Never fails to start right up no matter the weather..
If I could rig a loader on the front
I'd park the newer one out behind the barn

Yeah
It's not made for wimps
It does a great job of mowing..
But close quarters steering will definitely wear ya out
