No, I am not afarid of the shadows and have even dated a few of them. It is like a box of box of chocolates, you never know what you are getting, adds to the excitement I must say!!!!

interesting development within the past day or so: "the shadows" no longer have the grey silhouette image with their name when posting.
it obviously reduces space requirements for posting and does away with an obviously non-revelatory and thus irrelevant factor.

i wont even bother with a shadow unless they show me a pic and have a damn good reason as to why theyre hiding. theres too many real people to choose from, so why bother with someone thats either married or in jail and cant post a pic

doing away with the shadows is an interesting twist cause it doesnt draw as much attention to the fact that they dont' have pics. what i would like to see is that we could put other pics up, something that represents us in some way, one guy used to have a horse head in his avatar, we have had a few butts from women (fully clothed of course) the funniest was a guy covering with a cowboy hat. dont get me wrong these werent sleezy they were funny. what if i wanted to put betty boop. i used to use a photo of this famous older mean looking chinese actress. as long as its obvious or we make it clear that its not our real pic, and we have the real pic in the profile, whats the big deal?
i think its better than a shadow or a blank space. other sites i have been on do this. or what about if u let people who are "not looking" get to make creative avatars, its not like they are fooling someone they plan to romance.

Someone mentioned not having the money to buy a digital and its true for I was a shadow for about 3 or 4 months back when I first joined a dating site till someone I knew helped me and got a pic up.
But now there are places who will convert a negative onto CD for use on your computer or put the whole roll of undeveloped film onto CD.
I have talked to shadows on here and written back to them. If they have a reason for no picture..it depends..most all have sent or got a pic up.
But met a very nice man who was a shadow and dated him for about 8 months...so it depends.
But I am not scared of "The Shadows." Only "The Shadows" know if scared is what we all should be.

The only way I owned a digital camera was a loved one gave it to me. I certainly can't afford that luxury, very happy to have the gift of the internet. But my photos were actually taken by someone else's camera.
I have to admit I'd rather, much rather see the shadow photos because for whatever reason it annoys the heck out of me to see 'nothing' like that person isn't really there or doesn't matter.
I dated a shadow once, he was quite accurate in his description of himself. In fact when I met him face to face I was pleasantly surprised, he was quite handsome. I don't know why he didn't post a photo, I never questioned it. He was a terrific person and we parted as friends. I've still a few shadow friends on my list, some folks were shadows and are no longer...they were not ugly ogres but real, genuine, nice looking people.

They took our shadows down probably to stop threads like these now we have no silouttes or shapes so we still win the shadow blasting on here.....now we can bury stupid threads like these......
