My personal opinion is that the looks will fade someday. They better have something else then.
Kind of like a new car. When the new fades off, it better have something under the hood.
Looks are nice, but I would rather be with someone that makes me laugh and I enjoy then someone that looks good on my arm.

To me its not a question of whether a person is deemed good looking or not its about their smile , the way their eyes light up or not ,and whether their smile reaches their eyes...Its about how they carry themselves and grooming,its about humour and intelligence its about how I feel when I am with them...Its about compatability....Everyone is attracted to another pyhsically and otherwise...

I agree, personality and character should be the first thing a person looks at. However, though women can be shallow, men are very shallow,they want Barbie from what I have found. If that is what they want, good luck, only Ken gets Barbie guys. Just remember trophies tarnish and a good heart is forever. I think there has to be mutual attraction, but guys base it all on looks....they really do. These types of guys think they are all that and then some and yet they are not. Those will be the ones who end up alone because they are always looking for the next best thing. Eventually there will be no best thing, just a old man looking in the mirror at himself wondering why he is alone.
You gotta know what kind of bait is on the hook determines what you reel in.

Looks matter to a degree, but they will not sustain a relationship.
I don't care so much for the color of a woman's hair or eyes, or how tall or short she is, or if she has perfect teeth. But, I am a smallish guy (5'7", 147 lbs.), and my one big physical turnoff is a woman with a big gut.
Beyond that, it's all about character.

The #1 place that you are likely to find a partner is where you work. I think is because people go beyond the looks and see the personality - they are around them so much - but you still need to be able to look at them. Plus at work - you see their style, dress, attitude, etc.....
The 1st impression will still be looks - no way around it. but I would not recommend dating people you work with..........it can be hazardous !!!!

I cant speak for all guys, but I have never started a conversation with a women i didnt know because i thought that she might have a good personality. However, I would never be with a women who looked good, but was completely ugly inside.
I think the main reason for the "shallowness" in men is because we want to show you off to our buddies. I know that I want a women that is going to make my friends jelouse.
