Won't make any difference. Those that believe will still believe. Those of us that already know better will still know.

I have never understood how ppl can believe in a god.. that has no proof of existance or any facts to support the claim that "god" exists.. If this new experiement proves that the universe started with the BIG BANG.. it would rule out that "GOD" created the heavens and the earth.. I want to know how the "Christians" are going to explain that one...

I honestly don't think they should have to explain anything. They believe what they believe and if that helps them in their live great. I believe what I believe which is that there is no supreme being however, proving that the Big Bang is possible doesn't mean that it happened and if you could prove it happened it still does not disprove that there is a God. God could have created the Big Bang, I do think that the theory of biogenisis is a load of garbage though.

Well, I am sure they will find a BS excuse (they have a lot of practice) to keep the "manipuleable" people dominated and brainwashed.

You are right....but it takes an Atheist to say / understand your words. Those manipulated into believing are -by virtue of the same process- also programed to defend what was induced into their brains.

Unfortunately, the brainwashing process doesn't take place only about religion..I see it happening with the Ed. syst. also.

My biggest concerns are not about religion as such, but more about the lack of logic and critical thought.
If more emphasis were placed on these in the education system, people could more properly educate themselves throughout their lives.

Logic and critical thought ? hmmmm.. don't we wish.. however,,as long as humans thrive on their own emotionalism> that for the most part<<..can't be achieved thru education

I think they are skills that can, and should be taught. Too many teachers expect rote answers and the result is a total lack of the teaching of thinking skills.
Once taught though - you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

Well..ifn the educational process in the american schools would eliminate the use of computers/calculators..for use.. then maybe .. they could teach the skills we learned ..in math..by having to use your own mind to solve the problems..

It's not the calculators or computers, it's the though process. I took 3 courses in statistics, the first one was entirely on paper The other two were almost entirely computer based. I learned an awful lot more in the computer based ones, because I wasn't fretting about my arithmetic.
I see those things a tools, they can be useful in the hand of a good teacher.

Its common knowledge, though, that mathmatics teaches one how to utilize the thought process.Anyone can use computers to figure parameters,,do math, calculate dimensions,,,etc,,,But before those thing were availabe for public use and affordable..we had to use our own minds to figure these things out,we used formulas, and numbers,to expand one's mind. Our tools were pencil -paper- rulers- protractors-compasses..it all was done by hand ,on paper.Math made ya have to (think)..Young people are not challenged in todays age,,by having to (think)in a mathmatical sense. Mathmatics..led to concepts and therory.. to understnad concept and therory is to use one's mind.

I agree that exercising our minds is important. Back when I went to school first, back in the 60s & 70s, simple calculators cost hundreds of dollars and computers filled a room. We did all our math by pencil or paper or slide rules. I returned to school in the 90s and used computers and complicated calculators. I really found no difference in the necessity to think critically and logically about the problems. All a computer can do is what you tell it to. If you do not know how to consider the parameters to consider or know the correct analysis to perform, you do not get accurate results. These things are just tools. They don't remove the need for critical analysis.
