Well "dustin" thank goodness for cut and paste, but I want to be a part of both 60 and 70 + groups. Like the others, thanks for beginning this thread.
Hello Everyone:
I began this journey down the path of cyberspace “connections” only a few days ago after a sixteen year sabbatical from a “non-personal” life. The self-reclusive existence may renew itself; but for now I have been challenged by those close to me into trying this new and I must say very difficult venue for meeting the opposite sex. Nonetheless, I have decided to hike down this computer-generated trail for a short period of time to see if their may be a connection for this eclectic one. I have already encountered some very interesting people some honest, some fake; but like a bird on a wire I will try to maintain my balance in this new world.

I write about a small North, Florida, town called Mount Perry, Florida, home to Florida's only snow capped mountain. I've been on DHU for a few months and found it an educational experience. Some very nice guys -- some various emotional problems and some -- quite open qbout the one thing they are interested in. Internet rather condenses the dating experience. Things that would be gradually disclosed, are known almost immediately. Exchanges are sometimes like interviews... impersonal. But in many ways it saves time.
I am a retired professor of music and humanities. My life is happy and I have wonderful friends. I mainly do things with four couples, but kissing your best friend's husband just isn't the same. I'm not looking for marriage at this time in my life, but would like to have a close, committed friendship/relationship to add zest to my life.
I've read a lot of the threads and it is apparent that many of you have formed close friendships. Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself.

I'm a transplanted New York Jewish housewife (now a widow) living in the south east of Florida.

I'm fairly new at the forum but just jumped in and started posting so am back tracking and introducing myself. I am from a small town in Indiana and have been a widow for 38 yrs and raised 5 children by myself. Love to square, round and line dance and any other movement to music. Nehama28 I have a daughter who lives in Hollywood, Fl and am coming down to visit Thanksgiving for 10 days then going to Mesa, Az in February for a couple weeks....love to travel. A brave decision, Rod! How does that old joke go? I'm no good at jokes. Something like, well, if you do nothing, then in two years, there you are, still alone. If you do something, true, it may not work, but then, it could work, and then two years from now you will have a lover and companion. What would you rather do? But still, it takes a lot of courage to step out and say, "I'm looking!!" Go for it!

My name is Mary Ann; I am 75 years old, live in Azle, Texas. I am conservative but I am also compassionate. As a Christian who loves The Lord, I don't want to cause pain or suffering on any human being, no matter where they were born. But I am also very strong on living and observing the laws of our land. My most fervent prayer is that our government can find it within its rank and file to enforce our laws and to make new law that will protect "ordinary citizens" from the corruption that was once called "business" or "capitalism" when those were not dirty words.
