I agree with Chucky T, you can be friends but there needs to be a period of no contact at all. A chance for you both to live your own lives, then if down the road you cross paths and want to be friends it's possible, though not always wise. I have ex girlfriends that are good friends today and some who are gone and forgotten. Just depends on the people involved. Good Luck.
