Good post Barb. I am 5'10" and also like to wear heels. I've been told by my guy friends that most men would find me intimidating to approach. I'll be curious to see the responses.
I will say though, I do not like to date guys shorter than me, I've tried it and it just does not feel right, which really limits my options

I've dated shorter men, I will still date shorter men, and I was married to a shorter man for 17 years. In fact, I very much like a man who has enough self-confidence to date a taller woman. Dating someone shorter doesn't bother me, but I think it is common courtesy not to tower over them out in public. So yeah, I wear heels to work, no problem. But, it is nice to wear heals on a date once in awhile.

I'm 5'9" and love heels. I dated one guy shorter than me and he was very comfortable with it so I was. I have to say though it is a little uncomfortable to me, I prefer men over 6' just so I can wear heels.

I think that if the man is secure (emotionally), it makes no differance what so ever. I am 5'4" and I have never been in a relationship, or dated, a woman shorter than myself. I think that the height issue comes into play if the woman is looking for a protective individual, (either emotionally or financially, and either consciously or sub-consciously).

I have always envisioned a 6'5 man so I could look UP into his eyes!! I am 5'11" in my bare feet.. I also would love to wear heels.. They are so sexy!! But TBH... I'm not sure about looking down on the top of a mans head as we dance... or having his head buried in my boobs getting real friendly!! Wait!! Maybe THATS why all the shorter men ask me to dance!!!!! I have a great friend who is 6ft in her bare feet. Put her in four inch spikes and you can find her anywhere! She's beautiful, feminine, and a real woman. In high school there was a kid he was 6ft10 and his girl was 6ft4, perfect match. In the movie "Under the Rainbow" a midget follows a showgirl into the dressing room and she throws him out. He said his dream was to go up on a woman!

From many many did I say many past experiences, the short guys like me. I'm six feet tall....so wearing heels makes me that much taller. I got the nickname "Sky Queen" when I deejayed back in the seventies. I had on six inch heels, and then the deejay booth was up three steps. My friend said, "Oh my God you are so tall you could be SKY QUEEN!"
I still run into people from that era that still call me "Sky Queen". I love it!
And no short guys, I'm sorry but I'm looking for a man taller than me. It's got to be tough to get turned down by someone you look up to, but I like to have a taller man around me...so I am the one that can feel short for once.

I'm about 6'3" and I've never met a woman who was taller than me. If I did and she was anywhere on this side of the Medusa line I think part of me would want her just for novelty's sake, although I realize that would be a terribly shallow reason to pick someone out of a crowd.
But if we talked for a while, had some things in common and some basis on which to build a relationship (other than that she's not going to be calling me to get things down off the top of the fridge for her), I don't think I would have any problem dating her.
