Damn noredneck who peepeed in your Cheerios today. Okay some women might be conforming to societies expectations, some women may just uphold sexuality on a more biblical basis, some women may have had negative sexual experiences as adults or children, and some women may not have ever experienced a man who has allowed her to experience the euphoria of a truly satisfying sexual experience. so women have to have emotional connection? uh...so this proves how they get it wrong almost all the time..babies and babies without dads...hows is that for emotional connection.

OK, here we go.
Conforming to society - If so, they should get a brain. Society at one time thought blacks should be slaves and women shouldn't vote. so, if it is the reason, then they're nothing more than a lemming.
Biblical- Then why is divorce so prevalent and easy ?
Negative experience- We don't live in caves, we know that lots of people have possitive experiences.
A mans permission- Ha !. With all the posts about "I don't NEED a man" .......Certainly they don't need his permission.

Are you blaming someone else for the your inability to think things through for yourself, and come to your own conclusions ?
Or perhaps it just hasn't occurred to try and think about it independently.
Women are continually posting on this site about their independance, and self sufficiency, yet 90% or better think exactly the same way on this subject. And the only logical reason you offer is that you were 'programmed' this way.
I'm not speaking in terms of myself at all. You need to pay a little closer attention if you want to continue trying to be a jackass to me. I was speaking in general terms, just as you originally were.
There are a ton (I won't pull a unsubstantiated percentage out of my a** the way you did) of social norms and mores that are perpetuated for no good reason other than "that's the way it is". Whether it's right or wrong, mindless or brilliant, doesn't really figure into it.
I really don't think Neolithic woman had to have an emotional connection with her mate to procreate, so it had to come from somewhere. It's nurture, not nature is all I was saying.

Moreover, have you ever REALLY thought through WHY you think like you do ?
Don't you find it interesting that such a large percentage of people think a certain way about something, and that that population is primarily confined to one area. North America. I've lived on every continent save Australia, and women in the US and Canada, except Quebec, are largely very puritanical in their sexual ideals.

I find it interesting that you consider a difference of opinion a hangup. There are no set rules, nor should there be set expectations. Yes, sex is a very critical part of an element to a relationship, and I don't think you would find arguements on either side. But, for me, before I go there, yes, I need to feel a connection; but a connection does not equate to love. Do I like the person, do I enjoy myself in his company, do I feel that I am another notch to his ego? And sometimes, you guys blow it, when you open your mouth.

Yes, sex is critical to a relationship, but is a relationship critical to sex?
I'll say 90% of the women here think that a relationship is critical to sex.
