Obviously a relationship is not essential to sex. But, the more comfortable you are with someone, the more you get to know each other the better the sex is going to be, and the better the sex is, the more comfortable a woman can become with her sexuality. Does that make sense or not?
And Kiti, I know my History, but I don't think the core values of Americans are based on the core values of the Native Americans. Don't try to make me look like an ass. The core values, the puritanical sexual hangups noredneck is talking about just might be traced back to the bible thumping puritans who invaded North America and founded our current government.

Why is it damn near every woman has to have an "emotional" connection ?
so why do men wanna poke it in almost any one they find willing to let 'em?
We'll never understand the "why"s about the other sex. Men and women are different. Why doesn't matter. Wise people just come to terms with it, and act accordingly.

Moreover, have you ever REALLY thought through WHY you think like you do ?
Don't you find it interesting that such a large percentage of people think a certain way about something, and that that population is primarily confined to one area. North America. I've lived on every continent save Australia, and women in the US and Canada, except Quebec, are largely very puritanical in their sexual ideals.
I do find it quite interesting. Sociology was one of the only classes I actually looked forward to going to. And I think you're probably bright enough to know it's far more complicated than your "just think for yourself" argument here.
As for me, I will tell, not because you're actually interested but because you're just so wrong about me it's laughable. I don't have many hang ups and I've had the good fortune (or misfortune depending on how it's viewed) of living outside of the States and experiencing what could be considered a more liberal lifestyle. I seek an emotional connection with a partner now because I want a lasting relationship. Sex is great but I believe it alone will not sustain a partnership. As I mature and develop all the aspects of my psyche I think it's my natural progression to seek a deeper more meaningful lasting connection with someone.
I'll bet other's can "think it through" and "come to [their] own conclusions" in much the same way. Others, many others, just need that emotional connection because that's the way it's supposed to be.
Oh, and it's not just women - men get tired of just screwing too.

If you know that you're programmed a certain way, might you not examine who and why programmed you like that, and if that programming was based in logic, or someone elses opinion of how others should act ?
Maybe you should ask yourself this same question---who programmed you to think the way you do?

I've seen two kinds of hang ups on American women. The fake ones, that that come off like a pair of wet socks. And the real ones, that slowly peel off, like a pair of silk stockings. If they have any misgivings about you....the hang ups stay on. Even if the clothes don't.

It's getting dull and repetitive now so I'll just quote myself... 
There are a ton (I won't pull a unsubstantiated percentage out of my a** the way you did) of social norms and mores that are perpetuated for no good reason other than "that's the way it is". Whether it's right or wrong, mindless or brilliant, doesn't really figure into it.
Society, religion, Mom & Dad, our culture.... that's who says.

well this is one woman who doesnt have hang ups about sex but I sure as hell have hangups about men who just use women and their bodies for sex...I crave emotional intimacy as well as sexual intimacy theres a whole lot of difference to having sex and making love...They are on totally different planes.... And if a man only wants to get to know a woman so he can have sex he needs to be upfront and tell her that he only wants to root her and doesnt want any emotional involvement or attachment and tell her upfront not after doing sweet talk and misleading her...

You know, in my experience, the men who brag about their sexuality and openess, wonderful sex skills and have no hang ups about sex and dating, are the lousiest sex partners I ever had. I am like ????? Walk the Talk mister!Some men blame their crude sex skills on the woman, then say she is cold and a prude.
However...women have different hormonal balances and were made to "Nuture" to take care of their offspring.Sex is to enjoy, but mostly to enjoy to reproduce. Therefore, the women being the nurturing emotional part of the equation by nature. Yes...some women have hang ups for whatever reason about casual sex. Some women prefer not to be predisposed to STD's. Can you imagine if we all just had a big free for all with sex...anything and anyones goes? SDT's would be epidemic in proportion. There is such a thing as protecting your health and some men are just not worth the risk.
FWB's are fine for those who like it....no judgement here from me. It is not always about hang ups, but more of a choice, just as a man has the choice to bang without an emotional connection. No one is right and no one is wrong. Individuality is a good thing!

nord, why do you think that women are PROGRAMED? did you ever think, this is the way we are born? Our genes from our past parents and their parents? It is what it is..
about quebec... same reasoning. most women there have no respect or boundaries when it comes to screwing around in quebec, open sexual revolution is in full swing in that part of canada, so is drugs ect. so is this a reflection of that part of the countries "times" ?, or is it the genetic tendencies of those women's mother and mothers passed down to their offspring to just screw away....
i also agree, 99% when a man says he wants to give a massage to a women, he only does it
to be a foreplay to get sex.
to women we want a message to be just that... but we bend...cause we want our man to be happy... so we have sex. not all the time like this, but most of the time.
so if a man says massage, i am old enough and experienced enough to know what that really means.
men want sex and will play emotional games to get it.
women want emotional security and will play sexual games to get it.
diffrent ... not all of the time, but generally it happens.
just the way it is.
real question is ... who did you want to bang, and she said no cause she can tell you didn't want an emotional commitment?

If a guy is too easy to get into bed, then I wouldn't give him the time of day. His loyality isn't with me, and you can never trust him... Goes both ways, if a women goes straight into the sack with someone they just met, how can you be certain she doesn't do that with others????
But it agains depends on the individual and what each party is after... I dont disagree with unemotional sex if that is what both parties want, however, what I find absolutely disgusting is men that pretend and manipulate women in getting their own way.

You know someone is going to kill me for saying this, but here it goes!!!
The man up stairs gave us brains to think things over no matter what they may be. He also put many of thoughts and feelings in that brain for us to use. But some of us got in line with the asses and got there brain instead. You see some like to bread like rabbits, dogs, cats, pigs, and so on because they don't have emotioms and go after what ever is in heat.
So feel sorry for the one with no brains and thank the man for the ones that do.
