Stella, the sophisticated women do, and the sophisticated men accept that. And no, we don't have to be the hunter. Nor do we need a "challenge". A "sure thing" would be nice!
I would LOVE it if women approached me. But they never have, not even for anything friendly.
Clearly, one on one soulmates are best, but in the meantime, there are lots of men and women to pass the time with. And there are many different levels of casual in between One Night Stand and Marriage. I'd definitely come back at least a dozen times for each of the ladies posted above me.
And no, I wouldn't f*ck just anyone. We men DO have our standards!

I agree with wdn-dragon, i want sex but with the right person, not every tom, d*ck or harry that cums by. I want it to be with the person that I want a relationship with, not a one night stand. I want that special guy to know what I want, and I want to know what he wants. Not casual sex.
