So what do you think about this weather we are having. Is this just the calm before a march blizzard or are we gonna get an early spring?

Hmmm, my first Spring here and not quite sure what to make of it ya know?

Last week, pretty ok weather, then this week - wham - at least so far....

Now I hear it should be back in the forties by the weekend again....

I can't wait to be done with dressing in layers and bundling up and all that nonesense....blame my So. Cal. upbringing, but people just weren't meant to have to wear 100 lbs of clothes on a regular basis just to keep warm. Snow and cold are things that are to be visited by choice, not lived in regularly lol.

newlife, I was born in South Dakota in mid April. The story my parents tell is that Mom went into labor as a blizzard was coming on, but they tried to head to town anyway. The road got so bad that Dad had to get out and walk infront of the truck while Mom drove. They finally decided to stop at a neighbor's house and they prepared to have a baby there. I didn't come that night. The next morning, the neighbor drove his tractor to town with my parents following behind in the truck. They made it safely to the hospital before I was born.

Hard to imagine a blizzard in April, 'eh? But it does happen!

And Thundersnows... I've been gone from "home" for so long that I actually had to google that! I do remember them now... thunder, lightening and SNOW!!

You'd have to go to the Current Events and Politics forum for that much fertilizer Rich.

I always bring my own spreader when I go in there

sd, I get a kick out of reading that forum, but I don't post in there often.. not sure I could hold my own in there. You about have to bring your own spreader.... or at the very least, a protective cover of some sort for your mailbox!

The spreader gets power washed, don't want to contaminate anything else

I don't get much hate mail, most of the hardcore Kooks and haters have me blocked. I do terrible things like confuse their issues with things like facts and logic

Oh too funny... I wish I had read some of those posts. But ya, I've noticed them too... I stay out of those threads, they just confuse me because it's so far-fetched. The comment that I made in this forum about "protective cover for your mailbox" came from one of the those threads on Current Events.... there is a thread in there that is warning all of us to watch what is put on our mailboxes... supposedly there's gonna be some marking on the mailbox of those who are an enemy to the NWO....So... I went out right away and bought a protective cover for my mailbox! LOL

I come here to get away from the Single Parents, GA Chat and Current Events forums.... all three of them drive me crazy. In Single Parents, they all wine about being single parents...it's so hard having to raise their kids on their own...and no one wants to date them. In GA Chat, it's just dumb most of the time... good people... just nothing to "real" to talk about. Current events has all the kooks, but it's probably the most entertaining of all. So, the SD chat is a reprieve for me... but ya'll aren't on here often enough!

I think we need to get some interesting topics going to bring everybody out. Or maybe do some advertising on the other groups.

Do you have any ideas for topics? And which forums would we "advertize" on? Or.. I guess we could email people who are from SD and invite them to come chat w/ us. They'd probably think it is a bit weird if I wrote to them, inviting them to SD Chat though since I live in Georgia!

LMAO!!! We want to bring them IN to this forum... not scare them away!!

I know for a fact that people drop in here every now and then because I get a lot of SD guys checking out my profile, yet I never see any of them post in here. (None ever write to me either... totally hurts my feelings.)
