I know what you mean about uneven quality of a particular author's work. I've noticed
a great variety in the quality of work of numerous authors, including Michael Crichton, Dean Koontz, Steven King, Patricia Cornwell, Janet Evanovich.

I have a hunch many of those are their earlier works, which can now be published
because anything with their names on it will sell.

Huge Michael Connelly fan.

But I also enjoy reading the classics...Jane Austen, Charlotte and Emily Bronte, Charles D*ckens.

My all time favorite is "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

Also love to read John Grisham, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nicholas Sparks, and Jon Krakauer.

Just to name a few!!

I think about sometimes when I stand in front of the mirror I’ll look only at the clothes I’m in and not at myself. Dean Koontz is hands down my favorite. I have all of his books.

Lori Handeland is a close second and I also like Sherrilyn Kenyon and Christine Feehan.

If anyone likes the fantasy/romance novels you might like the last three authors. I read Lori Handeland's "Moon" series books, they are Nightcreature novels-Werewolves mostly. A fun and romantic read.

Margaret Mitchell (gotta give her credit ... took her 16 years to write her novel!)
Emily & Charlotte Bronte

John Jakes

and I loved the Nancy Drew series when I was a widdle gurl!

Hemingway-The greatest writer that ever lived.
