Because some women i would just as soon look at her brests as her face 
 Well there's honesty.  I have come across guys that do that, so I try to sit down or find some other way for my face to be at their eye level to talk to them LOL.
Some guys do seem to have dating taller women as a preference just like any other preference anyone will have.
I don't think it's shallow for taller women to not want to date guys shorter. It is kind of awkward to date a guy that is more than an inch or two shorter than me. It does suck being so tall sometimes because I meet great guys that I feel like a giant around. I'm just a small bit under 6' barefoot, so my options are limited LOL. I have dated guys 5'9" and up...I don't even worry about how tall I am with heels on. If I waited around for a guy that is going to be taller than me when I put on heels (then I'm 6'3" -6'4"), I'd be single a long time LOL.

I have seldom met a women taller than me
But men in general do not concern themselves with hieght
that is a strictly female prefrence from what I have experienced
One time I dated a women almost my hieght, it was the first time having sex
in the shower was comfortable,or up against the wall
or in the dressing room in a department store
and the all important 69 position
so I can recognize the advantages of hieght being similar
But I am very attracted to short women

Most will try to say it's not a problem.
But unless the man is very wealthy.. no woman wants a man shorter than her ( in heels also.. very important that her man goes with her shoes ).. unless they have a fetish.. like skinny guys going for very obese women.

I have no problem saying what I want. I wish more people were up front about such things. That way we wouldn't have to guess at it.

You are the greatest. To the point and well articulated..... At a boy.. But, you need to reverse the situation... How come a tall woman cannot attract a tall man? Everyone I meet are extremely short.... No offense, but I know that it is very uncomfortable for a man to be 3 or 4 inches shorter than the woman.... I personally do not care of the height...
