In fairness I guess the first person that you started chatting with should be your first priority a lot would depend on how long you have been chatting and the frequency and depth of the chats. Sometimes people just have to be realistic about dating and distance, it dosen't always work. Sometimes it is better just to be friends.
I am new to this whole internet thing but if a guy was willing to travel halfway across the country to meet me just from chatting with me on the computer I would expect him to expect me to put out to pay him back for his travel expenses.

Well, you should also take into consideration how many fakes and players there are on these sites, and NEVER get your hopes up too high, or too soon. I never take anyone on here seriously until I see the whites of their eyes in person LOL

Considering the long distance aspect of these site I dont think its wrong to meet anyone, as long as you are honest. One might be closer in local which makes it easier to meet face to face. You never know, that one that is closer, you might not even have a spark with....

OK ,but then again look at when Walt went to meet Peaches...They had a good time and it was nothing more than friends....So what would be wrong with meeting anyone...Just think, it might make you want to make the trip to meet the other on even more!

finding the right one is a numbers game.....i put no limits on anyone and i dont do titles for that reason.....i dont want to feel guilty if i meet a guy for coffee.....if i also care about someone who lives 200 miles away......meet both but be honest.....dont make a commitment to anyone until you are sure.....

I never meant to imply that you should completely drop someone you have been chatting with just because someone closer has contacted you. When you make out a profile you put a specific distance and to me the men that respond to my profile are the ones that want to seriously date. When I started chatting on the forums it was more for entertainment instead of serious dating so I guess the issue of distance would never come into play for me. I hope that makes sence to someone besides me.

well if you talk to someone online and the obvious intent is romantic, then i feel you have some minor obligation to their feelings. I feel like meeting someone else before then is a big "screwyou" to their feelings.
