there is free camp hookups free swimming a 9 hole golf course the louge on the hill shakespear gardens heritage center and a dance not far on sat night

Sounds really great. I am playing in a golf tournament that weekend otherwise I would certainly consider it. Let me know if there is anything like this going on again.

I plan to keep my weekend open for this. I am thinking there is a pot luck Friday night (if you don't have a pot or food to put in it no worries); I would be more than willing to share food with others if they want to Sat. noon; and there is a fish fry/nut feed in a little town between W. Springs and the town with the dance so no one should starve if they can make it.

From what I was told, this campout was cancelled so I did not try to go. Went north instead. What happened? Thought people wanted some way to meet and greet?

a death illness and family showed up so it ended up that u and one other gal swould show than a couple guys called at the last min after we cancellled sorry

Understand death in family. Understand family showing. I am very sorry about the death and do not know what I can do to show how badly I feel for others. However, I had set aside that weekend way in advance -- I have family, have a job, and other things in my life too. Obviously I was not the only one who was not aware that the campout was based on how many might be willing/able to show. I am not sure how it affected the others who planned on going, but I sure would not have planned my weekend around the campout if I had that information when I made my plans quite a while ago. Oh well, live and learn -- can't do anything about it now except to ask that any function based on how many can make it be advertised as such.

I'm not from S.D., and I'm sorry your camping weekend didn't work out!
But for those who would've showed up anyway, don't give up hope.
I'd suggest next time you plan on meeting in a town, that has other places/businesses to provide entertainment for the "Meet & Greet" goers. In case the organizers can't arrive as planned.
I've only been on Cliff Ave once, in Sioux Falls. But the business district on it seems like an ideal spot for a "Meet & Greet" with all the sidewalk cafes/bars down there. Just pick a place and time to show up, and all who can will.
You still have some viable summer days left to make a success of another "Meet & Greet"!

So sorry about the death in the family and that cannot be controlled or planned for no matter whats going on! I would have liked to come to the campout.. but never knew how many would be there and didnt have the courage to come by myself and to camp when Im not used to it. Or to impose on anyone else.. Thanks anyway Rich. I had thought about driving up for the night for whatever the cover charge was for... and then drive back again.. but then.. My sister and brother in law were camping at Yankton and my mom and I spent all of Sat. there! By the way.. did you get hit by any of those storms? So since it was canceled and I wouldnt have know about that.. Im glad I didnt drive up! I just wished I could have known how many ladies were planning on comming.. let alone guys my age, ect. Im sure it could have been fun and an experience not soon forgotten. Maybe next time??

there was 8 gals and 9 guys that said they were coming and than when all buttwo gals a nd myself that came so we just went to the dance hope next time is better
thanks to all that had an interest please give me some input and how many would like to do it again and when
guess i need more input to try again
