After my last divorce. I've decided to actively avoid sex (ok, fine, with another person!) for at least a year. Try to do something different, at least once in my life. I know exactly what's going to happen when I do have sex with a woman for the first time since. She'll know way ahead of time its been awhile since my last time. And, I trust, she'll overlook our first time, and look forward to retraining me for the long haul, lol. If not, well, she will be numbered my "first" in a year, and number two will be up next. My point is, why hide your inactivity? It might even put her more at ease.

Slow, good job. I must say, however, that in the past when I have shared with "suitors" that I have been on sexual hiatus they tend to find problems with it.....one even asking if I was frigid. I think I have a miniscule, slight, teeny, tiny, itty, bitty, eensy, weensy, minute, iota of an intimacy phobia. Then there's that damned trust thingy. I may have to enlist your aid to overcome one or both of these pesky lil turds. LOL

To me, if anything it would be a positive to not worry so much about where the other has been. I am particular who I give my body to and it has been a very long time. I shared how long with another recently and the response was, aren't there men around you to date??? I have dated. That doesn't mean I necessarly am going to have sex with one I date. Sex, for me, is too much of a connection to be had just because I can.

I wouldn't think it would make a difference one way or the other. Like what was said above, it's kinda like riding a bicycle. As long as you remember what goes where, I'd say don't worry about it. The more aware you are of how long its been the more awkward it will probably be. Just relax and have a good time with it. Sex, afterall, should be fun for everyone involved!
Oh, you could also pracitce. Practice makes perfect and in this case it sure is a lot of fun too!

It would depend on the situation. Were they in a relationship not having sex? Why? Has it been on the rocks but they felt committed in making it work? Did they stop the sex for whatever reason? Have they been single and looking? If looking, how sexual have they been? If they have had multiple partners that would bother me more then if they had no sex at all.
For those of you have been turned away because you didnt have sex why do you feel their opinion mattered about you? What kind of person are they looking for? I am confident any woman will be pleased with me. It is not for a casual acquaintance.

I think in todays world, it's smart to not sleep around. So what if you chose to not have sex for a while. If you are worried about the firt time you do after a long period, go for a warm up session at home before your date.

Hey Burn...I know what you mean about the sick spouse. The last time for me was in 2003...I think...Could have been 2002. Anyway, it has been a while. And I confess that I salivate at good looking women too....but am I strange in wanting LOVE? My friends tell me that they would give their eye-teeth to be single, financially independent, getting close to looking like my old Clark Kent self....and that they would do everything in a skirt that could.
I can't do that. I want real love. Sex is...just sex. Anybody can get that. That's easy. But I want real love. I wouldn't feel right having sex with someone that I didn't love or that didn't love me too. Sex alone...that's something that pigs do. I think it can be very interesting. Then you both get to explore different things that please you... at the same time you may learn something. I've heard alot on this issue just standing back and watching what alot of different people respond to. I think it could be a very good thing. Well Peregrina, I was nervous too.......he was 10yrs younger than me, very well built & good looking........ I guess I had a brief moment of anxiety......but really, it is just like riding a bike.
