I don't use the friends feature, though I used to. My friends know who they are and I am choosy about who I call friend. Not all people feel the same way about that and a person's friends list might not represent those they know... like... trust. When I used the feature, I welcomed only those I felt that way about. That connection was used by the loons who fly by every once in a while.
I have no issue with people showing many friends, maybe that is because I truly am here only for the friends. Though if I were looking to date one who had only beauiful women showing as their friend, it would put me off.

Why would it scare someone off? Not really sure about that. I have several male friends on my list. I din't have any female friends for quit awhile when I got on this site. In all actuality this is a dating site and most people are looking for a date so why would you put a bunch of the same sex pictures up there? I mean if a guy had all males on his friends list I would definately stay clear. I now have my man and another really good male friend on my friends list. To me the friends list is to be able to quickly see who is online because you like to talk to that person or you like to read their posts in the threads.JMO
