It's actually not the child that scares a person our age away because a child is very resiliant to changes if those changes are good one's. What scare's the so called bejesus out of women our age is when you want to change us and mold us to "your" specifications of what a "mother" should be and moving to quickly. Don't be in a hurry, just concentrate on being a dad. Be careful on who you introduce to your child it can leave lasting scars on him and also affect the way he himself views women when he is older.Are you looking for a relationship for you ? or your son ?.If you want stability, it takes time.Nothing worthwhile happens overnight,take things slow and don't try to change someone. The worst thing you can do to a person is to take away their idenity,self worth and independence. Don't look for a quick fix in any aspect, It never last's because it was gained with lie's and eventually the relationship grows tired and strained and the child suffers another loss to his confidence and self esteem. Just be wary of who you expose the child to. So it just might be that the women our age out there are looking at the long term effects on the child, give us a little credit.I myself worry about the effect I may have on the child and whether I was being sized up as a potential girlfriend,fling,mother,maid,nanny..... The list goes on. What are you looking for ?. I am a very serious person I just want the truth in what people are looking for. I watch for crossed messages and inconsistancies,that is what keeps me from trusting someone with my heart,It's not the child that scares me it's the Dad. I don't think anything has changed as far as being a parent(raised 3 of my own) or to being a step parent(helped raise 5). The rulebook is still the same, except you need to brush up on your math,lol.

I was glad to see that there is someone out there that is haveing the same problems that I have been haveing for years. I have children and that me that I meet don't want the to deal with the fact that the children are going to be first no matter what else is there.
