being semi-landlocked
i have enjoied reading
sea novels...one of my favorite is the Midshipman Bolitho series
by Alexander Kent
"Where lies the land to which the ship would go?
Far,far ahead,is all her seamen know.
And where lies the land she travels from? Away
Far,far behind is all that they can say."
Arthur Hugh Clough

Hi, My name is Sandy! I lived on a 63 ft. custom built Irwin Sailboat for one full year. It was the adventure of my life. I was First Mate! I helped sail the boat from Detroit, MiMichigan to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. Wow, every second was an awesome moment! Yes, there was hard work to do, but that was beside the point. The joy of the moment was thrilling to say the least.
Adventurer,
Sandy

Howdy 4evr6y and Sandy! I found this thread by accident but glad I did. In 2004 I was living on my 37' Pacific Seacraft in San Diego. Just weeks from setting sail for my solo around the world cruise. Then things abruptly collapsed! Well, things happen for a reason and I guess God has differrent plans for me. Alas! I have a "sea story" I'll post later when I get back about Santa Cruz, CA. Don
