In the bible it talks about all these things that happened. Why don't these things happen now?
Examples:
Seperating of the sea
Water turned to wine
Someone turned to stone
If there was so much action 2000 years ago, why don't we see these things now.

Perhaps 2000 years ago, people actually beleived in "miracles"? Perhaps 2000 years ago, people had more faith than people today? Then again, maybe there's not a need to part the seas, turn water to wine and someone to stone. I don't know the answer, just, a couple of maybe's. Search your own heart, Father God will answer if you listen. God Bless you and Merry Christmas!

I think you've got your answer from the replies, just like everything else the unevolved say. Just fairy tales, fear, superstition and unevolved stupidity. Nothing happened which is written in the bibles that can be verified and all it's supporters can rely on is the emptiness within their minds.
Deserted, you will note they never answer anything with substance and many of them so conceded they rely upon hope and faith, rather than reality and fact. Which gives you an idea of the veracity of the contents of the bible, you have to remember they live within a world of delusional illusion, not reality and fact. That's why so many of them have such dysfunctional lives and fill the jails, psychiatric hospitals and war zones of the world.

Today, too many people are too busy just making an existence, and don't have time for miracles, and would be too busy too see them if they did occur. Back then, life was slower, and there was more time for contemplation, religion was an every day thing, not just for a few hours on Sunday. Add to the fact that there were more than one level of teachings, at least one for tha masses, and one level for the priesthood, so there are many teachings that we do not have today. A reading of the lost gospels will point much of this lost teachings out. One must also keep in mind that to be a miracle it need not be a huge event.
Then too, the organized religions of today have frowned upon the gifts of miracle workers. A prophet of yesteryear would be called a psychic today, a healer that used herbs and natural cures would be called a witch, and one who could heal by faith is called a Reikki master. It became necessary for organized religions to hold the reins of power, so what was once accepted as a gift from God, is now called heresy. So perhaps miracles today are just your point of view?
During the dark ages and the beginnings of organized Christianity, many things happened by the hand of man, and not the will of God. Many of the old texts have been lost, or destroyed by natural disasters, and yet others are either collecting dust in the church's archives, or been destroyed as heretical works. Passages added, and some deleted, and the message got watered down to make it palatable for the masses, who were then told simply to take certain aspects of religion on faith, the clergy would let them know what they were to believe in, as opposed to having a personal religious experience. Maybe this is why miracles are rarer today?
The Gnostics held that one should have personal religious experiences, and not rely on the words of the clergy as to what God is, and how He should be experienced. Perhaps this is a path you should investigate for modern miracles. Gnosticism is experincing a revival, and lack of a personal relationship with God is one of the reasons.

On the day of my salvation Plenty happened, and I can see it still happening.
It is the proof that I have of God’s very existence. If you have been paying attention to media outside the Boob Tub (TV) you will see that the bible is being proven as we speak,
For the agnostics, and the atheist; there is a little saying I like to go by;
I’d rather believe and find out He doesn’t exist’
Than not believe and find out He does!
Miracles happen today before our very eyes; we have to open our eyes and be perceptive to them.

Back then the Jewish people had God right in their midst. He walked the earth with them, and they did not even recognize Him. Jesus (God manifested in the flesh) was showing God's glory with certain miracles. Other (acts of God) were done to rescue His people, and to some a warning that people did not heed (and the result thereof). I am not a Bible scholar, and I am not about legalism. What I do know is that there is a loving God, who sacrificed the ONLY Son He had to save the world from the curse (the sin of Adam and Eve). I personally know the love of God because I am an example of a changed person.
The person I used to be is not the person that I am now. To be a Christian is one of the most difficult walks in life, (but also one of the most rewarding). I love God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. He is the rewarder of those who "Seek His face".
I dare not ever dream to go back to the life I used to live, because now I am a new creature in Christ. I am free and free indeed!! Praise God!!

HA!
A funny boy huh?
NO, not, not even close.
half of it is just made up,
the other half metaphor.
The bible has been translated, retranslated, mistranslates, had much added to it that didn't previously exist and had entire volumes deleted that otherwise would have been there.
I think you'll have better luck looking for spiritual advice in reading your VCR instructions on how to get the clock to stop blinking "12:00".
but to answer your questions.
Separating of the sea?
sand bars.
I've been in that reagion of the world and all those sand dunes eventually get blown into the sea, then washed back up on shore again to become sand dunes again.
You can walk for miles and only be ankle deep sometimes.
That is more likely what happened in this case.
Water into wine?
it is also a metaphor.
drunkenness was a sin and only officials of the church could drink wine.
if you were just some regular guy then all you had to drink is water.
they didn't have the wide variety of beverage options available to us today.
It was either water or wine, well that or goats milk or something like that but that doesn't sound too good.
so by Jesus give wine to his host he was saying that religion was not just for the high priests and church officials, who were only only ones allowed to drink wine legally but should be for everybody.
Thus he changed the metaphorical water into wine.
Or at least that is how I heard the story go.
I'm sure it was understood back then and probably explained better originally but in the early years of the church different church officials thought it better to make Jesus into some sort of super hero to make him more appealing to the masses.
Someone turned to stone?
No, nobody turned into stone,
You are thinking of either Greek mythology, if you looked at Medusa you'd turn to stone cause she was just that ugly.
Or Lot's wife turned into salt.
just another myth with another longer explanation.
err, but ask risk of offending people I will refrain from that for now.

I got 29,100 returns from google search for "modern miracles".
What would you call a Metaphor of a Metaphor?..
What are Myths useful for?..
Why did teachers use parables?...

What would you call a Metaphor of a Metaphor?
Religion!
What are Myths useful for?
1) Privative man's attempt to understand and explain the world around him.
2) To communicate social codes and social norms
3) entertainment, they really didn't have TV back then.
Why did teachers use parables?
To help the stupid people try to understand.
they say the human brain has been growing in mass and weight ever since they've been keeping track, so you figured back then they might have really needed some sort of teaching aids to help them relate abstract ideas to the masses who didn't have the advantages of any formal education.
I'm sure those people would have been shocked if they found out that people were now taking their clever little stories literally.
