 It seems that most of the men who have sparked my interest all live FAR AWAY from me making them G.U (geographically undesirable) even though they are hot!!! What's a girl to do?????? I can't move should the relationship grow to that point and frankly how could it, given hundreds or thousands of miles that separate us. A quandry.........

I have a friend (38 years) who got divorced in 1998. I introduced him to the computer and some chat sites. 6 years ago he started talking to a woman in Indiania. They talked everynight on line for about 3 months and they then exchanged phone numbers and still chated with each other through the internet and the phone. At 6 months, he decided to go to In for a visit. He stayed at a motel near her for the weekend. He did this on and off for a year. 4 1/2 years ago, she decided to drive here to pa to visit him and never went back. They are happily married now and her 4 children treat him as their dad. They are purfect for each other. Long distance affairs sometimes work. The whole key is to communicate openly and truthfully. I hope this helps you.

Depends on the 2 people involved. Local is obviously easier, and the chances are greater. However, there have been some success stories from long distance relationships. Those take more work and compromise.

If neither party is willing to relocate then why bother with long distance. If there is no problem with relocating then go for it

That is so true local or long distance doesn't matter. It's about getting to know the person. You can only do that if you're communicating. I met a guy 3 years ago and we haven't seen each other yet but we are still communcating So Hummmm!

the only time a long distance relationship will ever work out, is if you have a time limit for it. an example would be like if you are going to be in one area for like 8 months untill you can be closer(in the same area), it's a stretch, but it's do able. plus if you have a time limit then it can help you out with the non physical part of a relationship and get that part good and strong. to many people jump to the physical side of the relationship before they get to know the person who they are with(dating), so honestly, i think that for some people a relationship to where you are temporarily long distance, can be the best type of relationship that they could hope for. But that's just my opinion.

When I first started on here...long distance wasn't an option for me...that came from experience on another site...a painful one at that...
Then I started talking to Bounty who lives in another state and another time zone. I'll admit the distance, even though it wasn't that far, bothered me. The more I talked to him and grew to like him and really gave thought to my personal goals and my future, it was easy to convince myself that "hey, Missouri and Kentucky border"...and all of a sudden he didn't seem that far away.
Now when it comes to dating someone or getting interested in someone from the other side of the Country...well that's different. I can manage a time difference of one hour but 3 or 4 hours...is not for me...and as Forrest Gump would say...
"That's all I'll say about that".

Hey, I could do a long distance relationship. With a woman that has a bass boat and about 500 acres in her back yard I can hunt on.
